I was buying another iPod 5g 64GB at BB this past weekend. The salesperson told me that a lot of angry customers are returning the 16GB version, complaining that they weren't aware it lacked a camera. It seems odd for Apple to downgrade their iconic product, at least while using the same name. I know other manufacturers downgrade all sorts of popular products, in an attempt to appeal to the budget-minded consumer. The Touch 16 GB is too close to the price of a 32GB Touch IMO, especially when BB discounts the 32 and 64 GB versions $25 every other week.

I'm betting a lot of those angry people are getting either the 32GB or 64GB after they return their 16GB. It's still a win for Apple.
