do you know if this applies to all carriers? Verizon particulary

I know that verizon does something similar, but the pricing isn't universal.

I just read today, in another thread, that if you have Verizon the $5 a month thing for your termination fee only applies if you signed your contract with them after they started that deal.

Anyways, I have Verizon now and my contract ends this November so I think I'm gonna sell my ipod touch 8gb. What price should I expect to sell it for, $225-$200? And is there anything I should know generally about the iPhone (I know I'll be getting the new one and things change) since I'm used to using a touch. Any real differences? Thanks guys!

A MUCH better camera, not on contract but avilable as pay-as-you-go unhacked with full functionality, MMS, video recording, 3G, proper blue tooth, 32 gig and <£300. I'd probably go for it.

it can... search for it somewhere. I am not 100% on how to do it, but there's something like when you are signing up via iTunes if you put your credit card number as something like 999999999999 then you can have a prepay option. Apple just doesn't like to say that since they only make money off the contracts.

That's not what the deal was. What you had to do was enter your SSN as all nines, so you would fail the credit check and become eligible for prepay. AT&T got wise to that a long time ago, so it no longer works. There may or may not be other prepay methods available via SIM hacks. Also, Apple makes money of the contracts AND the hardware.

The old method that DOES NOT WORK is here:

The only way to get prepaid (which is MUCH more expensive than a post paid contract) without physically modifying the phone/SIM is to have bad credit. IMO it is much better to just sign the contract, and the ETF is only $175 and will be prorated on contracts signed after May 25. If one purchases an iPhone at an AT&T store, they usually ask to check your credit (which you may decline, but they strongly recommend) to confirm your prepaid/postpaid eligibility. If you are not eligible for postpaid and want to return it, you must pay the restocking fee if it has been opened; which is why they ask you before you take it home. It is not a commitment--- the contract is accepted through iTunes.

If there is a iPhone Nano or a cheaper iPhone that will just compliment my iPod Touch then I will buy it, if not I will just get a different phone.

You pretty much read my mind!

When the 3G iPhone comes out (hopefully in 32GB) I will get that because I'm moving out of my parents house soon and there's an excuse to have a phone so that I don't have to get a lan-line phone. I'll be selling my iPod touch as well... hopefully I get some good money for it. Do iPod touch accessories work with the iPhone? I also can't wait to have speakers, and the internet ANYWHERE.... I'm excited!

I originally got the touch because I didn't feel the need for an extra phone and I'm already always leaving my cell phone at my house, or not charging or not putting pre-paid minutes on it but, with an iPhone, I KNOW it will always be with me and ALWAYS be charged just like my iPod touch... except now it will be a phone too... Weeeeeee! Come on JUNE... get here fast!

i just made the switch to att because of their better service in seattle and am currently waiting for the iphone 2.

i got the blackjack II for the time being because it was free
im trying to sell my ipod touch right now because i have a feeling the resale is going to plummet when the iphone 2 comes out.

if and only if the iphone 2 is much better (gps, hopefully a qwerty, better camera, and 3G) then ill get that and keep the bj II as a backup.

Probably not. I work for Sprint so I get my service free plus I just bought a 32 gig touch on Monday anyway
