Who is going to buy one in March when effectively Ipad Air 4 will probably come in October? We all remember iPad 3 and then Ipad 4.

Unless Apple start releasing the Air in March again yearly I would avoid. Given its probably just an Ipad Air with force touch and better cameras this is the Ipad kit worth buying.

Anybody who would upgrade is better going for a Pro as it has 4GB ram. Air 3 at best might have 3GB.

I won't be upgrading from my Air 2. I really only use it for video watching and web browsing at this point, so any extra power would just be wasted on my light usage.

I would buy one because my iPad Air 2 has only 16GB and its not enough! So I will sell it and buy the new model.

Right now, there is no guarantee that we will see an iPad in April and another refresh at the end of the year. I believe that the iPad 3 was an anomaly, because it ran a severely underpowered processor and Apple felt it was better to update the A5X to the A6X rather than let the product languish for another year. iPads are now at the stage where the hardware outclasses the software, so we will unlikely see another repeat of the iPad 3 saga.

I am currently using an iPad mini 2 which has gotten a bit slow, between iOS 9 and the 1gb of ram. I wouldn't mind an upgrade, but I am hoping it won't just be another superficial upgrade like the iPad mini 3. I am okay with 3gb of ram, as apps don't even come close to taxing the 2gb of ram of the iPad Air 2. If it includes force touch, I will likely upgrade in a heartbeat.

Why on earth would they release two airs this year? That makes zero sense

What if people don't want the massive pro? Ram from 3 to 4 is hardly a deciding factor.

If air 3 has better speakers, more ram and has pencil support with a faster processor it will be a good upgrade

No I definitely won't get the iPad Air 3 as I have the iPad Air 2 it is so powerful and 2GB of Ram is plenty enough and lots of apps/games are still NOT taking advantage of the power of the A8X chip and I am very very happy with the Air 2 especially with IOS 9. :)

And I think the iPad Air 3 won't be much of a upgrade from the iPad Air 2...
I most probably will wait for the iPad Air 4 or 5 which it will definitely be more of a upgrade then the Air 3 and that's where I think I will upgrade my iPad. :)

I am looking to use my iPad Air 2(bought it and have been using it since September 2015) for a least 2/3 years before I upgrade.

Do you still have the iPad Air 2 and still using it???
Just wondering....

I will be interested if it supports the pencil.
If the next mini supports the pencil, I would get that instead.

I am looking at getting a new iPad as my Air is starting to get sluggish compared with the Air 2's that I have used. I shall definitely be looking out in March to see what gets released. I can't see Apple releasing two iPad in the same year, surely that just doesn't make sense.

I'll buy it if there is a good improvement in processing power AND the ram goes to 3 or 4 GB. My iPad 2 can last until the iPad Air 4 if necessary.

The only reason I'd buy iPad Air 3 is if it got Pencil support. Seeing as that likely won't happen I will (gladly) stick with my iPad Air 2.

I see this posted a lot (i.e. Pencil support likely to remain exclusive to iPad Pro). How does anyone really know what Apple is likely to do in the future with respect to which iPads will/will not get pencil support? Seems perfectly plausible to me they could also choose to include support for the pencil with all future ipad releases. It's really just all speculation at this point. Put me in the camp of "I don't know" with respect to this point.

I'd buy the iPad Air 4 in October if the iPad Air 5 weren't going to be released in December.

Yeah I use it daily. It's what I use a lot when at home. It's the first thing I grab.

It's making me think if I need the mini 4 and tempted to get the air 3 with data support

I'm waiting till the Ipad gains an Amoled screen, the phones should have them by 2018, I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, the screen is fantastic on it, I prefer IOS but don't think I could go back to an IPS screen

Yes I would I don't have any iPad and I want it to be my first one :). If it has pencil support that is if not I might go with a mini 2.

I plan to buy also.

I have a Macbook Pro Early 2011 which is not that portable anymore. I need a backpack no matter what I do.
The nice thing is that I was about to buy iPad Mini last year and backed away in the last second. So brings up my point of buying and using it next to my Mac and sometimes all day long.

iPad Pro is too big and large for me and cannot replace my Macbook Pro 13.3 but iPad Air 3 will be a good companion.

I want to force touch of course but the pencil support is not that important for me. If I had a job or interest that I need to use the pencil, I should get the Pro.

Air 3 will also be good for my iPhone as well then I won't need to buy Plus and go for the regular size.

I'm looking to upgrade to 128 GB and mobile data on my iPad. The Air 2 is not quite enough for me to make the leap but the Air 3 I will definitely be on if it comes out this year.

If they did a double release, the Air 4 would have to be significantly better for me to have buyer's remorse. The original Air is already more than I need CPU/RAM wise.
