Just as a little addition, don't run your MBP with the lid closed. I know some like to do this, and there are even aluminum holders for sale (which look very nice) for the purpose of holding a closed MBP while running, so the user doesn't have to have the lid open.

Bad idea. It could cause some major heat issues.
 
Much much cooler than my Core Duo 1st gen MBP- almost anything is an improvement over that heat monster.
 
I cranked out about 100 raw files the other day which is a huge task for the MBP and uses all cores full maximum usage plus about 4gbs of ram to work them and I actually ran cooler than my old 2009 2.93 so given that there has been some improvement to cooling .I only went up about 10 degrees from normal compared to my old unit which was about 20. I use Istat to monitor this
