I too like the inner child coming out. Older kids and adults should be able to trick-or-treat if they wanna.
I don't, though. I have 2-3 parties each year I'm expected to go to, so I need 2-3 costumes. At this point I have 3 good ideas, and this thread has given me a few more.
#1: black body and face paint all over, all black clothes (tight), black accessories, getting my groove on, and an iPod.

iPod silhouette!
#2: black or navy mock turtleneck, a hat, shaved head, and a puppet. Possibly a small door drawn on the back of my head or glued on. I'm thinking of "Being John Malkovich."

#3: cardigan (layered), salt and pepper hair (or bad toupée), taking on and off my shoes and slippers. Mr. Rogers of course! Won't you be my neighbor?
I also thought of going as Stanford, since a group of girlfriends are going as SATC chicks. And one friend thought of going as Kathy Griffin, and I could have been Starr Jones.. but that would require a bodysuit, a lot of Dermablend, and of course drag makeup. (And I swore no more of that.) I also pondered a 3x white t-shirt, natty hair--maybe in cornrows, bling, and socks-and-sandals. I'd be pimpin' it K-Fed style! (Kevin Federline.)
Maybe I'll go as Steve Ballmer to this one geek party. Pit stains and all. DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS!!
I think, especially with idea #1, this might be one of the best years I've had for costumes. Last year I was a bodyguard for my friend who was Paris Hilton, and I was a bridesmaid for another party. My favorite costume of all time was what I wore the year I came out of the closet--I wore just regular clothes and wired/velcroed on a bunch of Ken dolls, G.I. Joes, and wrestler guys.. I was a "guy magnet."

My gay twist on the "chick magnet."
