Base MBA, although it won't arrive until mid-Jan, so a late Xmas present to myself.
I was about to buy on impulse - last second deal that popped up on Slickdeals for a base M1 MBA for $799.99 USD - $200 below retail for a just released M1...
Unexpected deal was my draw and figured it was a great Christmas gift for myself even though I didn't need it.
Unfortunately, it expired when I attempted to check out as the company sold out:

My 16GB/1TB MBA was supposed to be here today but Apple hasn’t shipped it yet.

Well, I did try selling the idea to several family members as part of my Xmas wish list, but they weren't having it... according to them, I apparently have too many portable Apple products lying around. I really don't need it, but wanted something portable (not iPads or MBPs) since I can't carry around my mac miniYou’re both cheating

It’s still in “Processing”. I was hopeful I’d get it early when I placed the order on 12/2, but no movement so far.

It was a legit deal and some people who jumped on it got them for $799.
The only catch was that you had to work for an education institution (Tk-12, College, University) and had to have a school email address which I have...
I wouldn't count on that....better get out the chocolates and flowers
I just checked the Apple site and if I went with gold, I could pick up a M1 MBA Saturday from the local store. Decisions.

It was scheduled for Christmas but it came earlier, this Monday. I love it. It's so awesome, coming from a MacBook Pro 2011 and now it's a MacBook Air 7/256 and 16 GB RAM

I saw my local Best Buy has space gray for pick up today so I just ordered. AC+ was on sale for $199 as well and I got that.
My local BB has silver and space gray available for pickup on 12/30. As tempting as it is, I‘m going to stick with buying through the Veterans program. However, if one becomes available at one of my local Apple stores with same or next day pick-up, I’ll take that option and just return the one that I already ordered. Thanks for the heads up!
