Who's gonna try to get one the 11th?

I'm hoping their will be some sort of pre-order so that you can order online and have it arrive at the 11th, doesn't make sense to me to let you order on the 11th and get it a few days after everyone just because you don't live near an Apple store or ordered online
 
IF I decide to take the plunge and upgrade I would go to the Apple store on Michigan since I work downtown and get off work @ 4PM anyway.

When does apple open up online ordering for a release day on the 11th? I know the last time it was like 05:30 PST you could start ordering, but that wasn't release day. Would it be 17:00 local time, or 17:00 EST?
 
Leaving work early: Check
Plenty of gas in the car: Check
Patience: Check
A love for all things Apple: Check

I just don't know which store I should go to. I'm hoping there is plentiful supply.
Is it 5pm local time the stores start selling or 5pm PST or EST? I'm in the midwest.

32GB White Wi-Fi will be mine by 6pm!
 
I am thinking about showing up mid-afternoon. Looking for a black 64gb wifi, hoping that this isn't a big mover..
 
I ended up selling my iPad yesterday so I'm definitely hitting up either the Apple store or Best Buy for 16GB WIFI iPad 2 next Friday.
 
I live in NY so I'm hoping the entire world goes to the stores in the city and at Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island, leaving the new store in Manhasset, Queens with shorter lines. I want the most expensive model on Verizon so I'm anticipating they wont run out of those. Me and my friend are going to head to the store around 12 to check out the lines and we'll get online once it starts to look long...If that time is 12 then so be it, but I honestly don't think the lines will be terrible.

I noticed on Samsclub site, that only certain stores carry the Ipad, bummer ours does not 🙁

So, gonna try a Walmart or BestBuy.
 
It's hard too when the changes are mediocre and the deals are popping up for the first generation.

I guess I won't since I just picked up BNIB 64GB iPad 3G.
 
Im going to try. Not sure how hard though 🙂

I have all the NYC as well as Westchester and CT stores to try. The latter are usually way less busy than the ones in manhattan (duh) so it wouldn't surprise me if I could walk in and get one mid day without waiting. I'll likely call and ask what the current crowd/inventory situation is.

Wonder if apple will put up one of those store inventory tracking tools like they did for the iPhones?
 
Not me, I am going to wait until I hear what others are saying about it once they are hands on. My is 1st one is still working okay so no rush.
 
I wouldn't be able to get to an Apple store until a little before 7 on that day. I suppose what I could do is preorder online, and if I get one, return the one I ordered online.
 
I really don't wanna line up for one. Did that for the iPhone 3G and never did it again (in at 5am and got the phone at 10am). That was a painful experience. I guess I'll just go shopping with my gf this weekend and see how the lines are. The only reason I'm not ordering online is I'll be out of town on the following Monday.
 
Well I was going to wait but I Just got offered $300 for my old 3GS and $400 for my old iPad that I don't have to hand over till the 11th so looks like I'm gonna go pick one up in NH to save on tax. At least it won't cost me anything out of pocket. Unless I go for the 64 now haha.
