There could be traces of programs left on the harddrive, orphaned folders, etc. Unless the DFU mode does a complete wipe, format, and restore on the phone, then there is a chance Genius or Apple can tell if the phone was jail broken or not.

I find it hard to believe that if you restore a jail broken iPhone in DFU mode that a "Genius" will be able to tell if it was jail broken in the past.

I've always been against jailbreaking and keeping it stock, but I think I might jailbreak just for MyWi and SBSettings, then just hide cydia and all that stuff. Those are the only two things I would really use.

I def will jb.its been tough waiting for it for me. I miss 3g unrestrictor the most also pro switcher, sbs settings, bitesms, cydia, themes, i could go on and on

I understand that. I would be fine with it if it just listed apps that implemented fast app switching, that would be useful. Instead it lists every single app you've opened. After a day or two's use it becomes useless as it practically lists every single app I own.

Why does it matter how many apps it lists? It's supposed to be used to switch quickly between apps you have just used. Those apps are automatically moved to the front of the list, so it's not like you're going to be flipping to the very end.

Just got my iPhone 4 replaced today, and was thinking about jailbreaking it (when it's possible to do so for iPhone 4). Was reading their disclaimer at the Genius bar how modifying your phones software voids the warranty. Now I'm a little worried about doing so. But 3G Unrestrictor + YouTube/Facetime/Skype = Too hard to resist. What do you all plan on doing?

You can always restore to factory settings if you need to return it.

I honestly wouldn't own an iPhone if I couldn't jailbreak it. I need sbsettings as I'm constantly turning 3G on and off depending on where I am, and I hate the fact the toggle is several menus deep in settings. Also want to remove apps that aren't actually running from the multitasking bar so it isn't several pages long (How did it go again, if you need a task manager you've failed?). Also 3G unrestrictor and SSH is a must. Also I detest Apples notifications method. It's unbelievably annoying. They need to copy Android's implementation, it's perfect. Something like this is perfect.

I'm in the same boat as you. On top of the apps you listed, I've also greatly miss lockinfo, qtweeter, mquickdo, kirakae (or any real task switcher), infiniboard/dock, winterboard. And thanks for mentioning Notified. I never thought that project would see the light of day when I first discovered it. Now that it's been submitted to cydia I'm more excited than ever for a jailbreak. Plus it's very reasonably priced ($0.99 and $2.99 version). The notification system is one of the things I truly miss from my Android device. It's baffling why Apple still uses only popups and badges.
