I prefer a 7'' tablet to an iPad and don't have specific brand loyalty. I go with what I like the most in the end.

I totally agree with you, somewhat. I have a Kindle Fire and feel it's the only size I want, but I hate the OS. I converted to Mac in '08 and would like a similarly sized reader/tablet but with iOS. I'm OS spoiled. I think the big iPad is redundant. I have MBP's and don't see where the big iPad would fit. But I also know that the big iPad is properly used and loved by many people. I'm glad we have choices. It would be a drag if we only had a couple.

I'll probably change my old iPad 1 for a mini if, or when, it is launched.

I'll wait and read the whine threads first, though :)

It's a tablet, and there are many of them out there now. The excitement is gone. Everyone has a tablet, or will have one soon, and they will be common household items.

The "magical" stuff went out the window.

Time for something new from someone. I'd bet on Apple!

Maybe Apple will be the first to reinvent the camera / camcorder..... They could incorporate it all into one nice sleek pair of eye glasses. You put them on and everything you see thru one eye lens is what the camera is recording. What you see is what you get. Coupled with a wrist watch remote, and Presto! You don't have to lug around a lump of a camera anymore.

I agree. There are a "ton" of tablets out there in all flavors but they all do the same things. The iPads succession from generation 1 to the current 3rd one has lacked innovation. After installing faster processors, retina displays, these tablets still do the same things the same way. I think the device idea itself is thoughtful - we just need a quantum leap in tablet technology that will enable us to do different things in life that we cannot do now.

maybe a way better Siri in a tiny device? Like those personal assistant AI watches in old sci fi.. haha, i guess it wouldn't be magical or new really but if Siri were a lot smarter it might be cool :)
