I upgrade on every launch day. Admittedly it is more difficult for me to do so on S releases. Some feel these are the most meaningful upgrades but I am not one of them. This was honestly the first time I look back and think I should have just kept my 6. I don't notice a thing different between my 6S and old 6. Not from picture quality to speed and performance. I don't use things like hey siri or 3D touch so it's been a lackluster experience. I will most certainly get the 7, but I doubt Apple will be bringing me the features I have been longing for.

I sent my 6s Plus back to apple. Just didn't like it enough to pay a grand for it.

I bought the 6+ and 6s+ off contract... Not again, real life is hitting me and need to save for a wedding. No more gadgets! lol

Things can change over the next 8 months, but the 7 will need to be a pretty radical change and some key features to get me to upgrade, 6 is treating me just fine.

I have a 6s+ and its the finest, smoothest, fastest smartphone I've ever had, and has insane battery life. I don't expect that I'll be upgrading any time soon, but not sure how anyone can say what they'll do until there is a 7 to look at. I have no idea what will be different about it to know if those things are upgrade worthy. Two of my kids have the regular 6 and my wife has a 5s, so they may upgrade. My wife likes the smaller size, so if they do come out with a new one of those I might get that for her.

I think most iPhone models are good for at least 2 years so upgrading every year probably won't yield huge changes and wasn't meant too. Outside of Macrumors, no one I know upgrades every year.

Some people buy them just cause its the latest model. Lol

Dunno if it's my more frugal type of upbringing as a kid but I always enjoyed the idea of keeping my electronics as long as possible to get the best value from them if I can.

I love my 6s and would like to keep it 4 years, or more, if possible, simply getting a battery replacement through Apple if needed. Who knows if that's how it will work out (apple could easily tempt me)... but at least that's my plan atm.

I am still using 5S. It feels a bit small, but the 6S' price is 2x the 5S here and about half a months salary so...

I like new tech so definitely upgrading to 7 from 6. Unless Apple gets rid of the headphone jack then I'll get the 6S and stay in the ecosystem for one more year before deciding what to do.

Very pleased with my 6 and wife's 6+. No reason to upgrade until the 7. I don't see any slow downs for normal usage.

Well you can decide when it actually slows down.. Don't think it will for at least 3 years ..

But ironic na.. We spend lesser for the tv and expect it to last for years but it's ok if a smartphones starts showing its age after 2-3 years that too after paying a bomb for it

Am observing that after upgrading to 9.2, my battery charges up faster.. Earlier it used to take around 2.5 hours to fully charge from a 10% or lesser.. Now it takes just around 2 hours ... Plus as mentioned already by many and myself, the battery life has increased considerably worth noticing.. Quite happy with 9.2..

Ps - mine is a 6s+..

I am. I had the 6S Plus for around a week and couldn't justify the price for $801 (with tax) price I paid for it. So, I looked on eBay and got a mint condition 6 Plus for $250, that included 9.0.2. I jailbroke it and now have the 3D Touch gestures, Live Photos and Front Facing Flash. I saved nearly $551!

I miss my 6+. I have the 6s+ now and it's nice, but I really did like my 6+.

But we ported out and I had to turn it in. Will be going to the 7 next year to get back on track as the 'S' model upgrade track is not the one I like to be on.
elaborate on why you miss the 6+ when you have the 6s+

I was asked the same question in another thread on this and my response there was that there is something intangible about the 6+ that I cannot explain.

It felt better, or more "right" than my 6s+ does. There is nothing physical about the device that I can offer to support my feeling. Except for the battery being smaller and based solely on properties and features the 6s+ is superior to the 6+.

Yet my feeling about it is still there. The 6+ for some reason just feels more solid to me than the 6s+.

With or without the case?

I was happy with my 6+ but I upgraded in September because I wanted to make use of the 2GB of RAM.

Had the 6+ had 2GB of RAM in the first place I would've skipped this year and probably upgraded in 2016.

I switched from the 6 Plus to the 6S Plus even though it was not my normal upgrade cycle As much as I liked the 6 Plus, it was a dog with respect to performance. I couldn't wait for the S to come out and I couldn't be happier with my 6S Plus. It is very smooth, super fast and no constant reloading of Safari pages.

When I use my 4/4s after the 6S it's interesting.
