So I'm planning on getting the new iPhone this year (whatever it ends up being called).
I currently have a 6, but I've never tried the 5.5 inch size and want to see if the bigger screen would be better for me. I also am interested in the dual camera.
I was wondering how many others are going to be switching sizes this time around. Are you happy with your current size, or will you be switching to the smaller or larger size if you're buying this year, and why?

I honestly prefer a smaller size snd would like the SE. But I also like the best phone possible, so i have the 6s right now as I didn't think there was too much of a difference between the 6s and the 6s plus to warrant the bigger phone.

Now if the rumors are the and they release a pro model I will be torn. I take tons of pictures(we have a two year old), so I would love to have the best possible camera, and I would love the battery life of the bigger model.

I'm just so unsure on the size, I wasn't thrilled with it when I had borrowed my moms 6s plus, wasn't horrible but not comfortable either.

I guess I will wait and see the announcement and how the specs are.

Decisions decisions.

I have already switched from iPhone 6s plus to iPhone SE yesterday and until now the impression are great (just loving that smaller form factor)will see until the end of year weather to get 4.7 iPhone 7 or the SE will serve the purpose:)

If I get a new MacBook Pro ( not yet released ) and then have to sell my surface 3, I may get the plus to replace my 6s. No need for a tablet in between. Also if the new Apple Watch has a god chip.

As much as I think the 4.7 inch is the sweet spot, not sure I'll ever be willing to give up my battery life on the Plus model, so to answer the OP, probably not.

I switched from a 6 to a 6s+ and couldn't be happier. I'll be sticking with the + sized phones for the foreseeable future. I love the bigger size for web browsing, messaging and games which are the things I do the most on my phone.

I have a 6 now and love the size, pretty much perfect size to me. Larger screen but still easy enough to use one handed. Now that said, I will likely be moving up to the Plus/Pro. That is assuming that the rumors of a better camera play out. That is by far my biggest disappointment with the 6 is the camera, particularly in low light situations. So I will deal with the bigger phone in order to get a better camera.

Unless the dual camera system is a major breakthrough in camera technology vs gimmicky features, I will go 4.7". I have tried so hard to enjoy the plus model, but even with huge hands (I'm 6'8") I hate trying to use that thing on the go. Looking at the supposed new sensor size on the 4.7, and rumored addition of OIS, that should be plenty of a camera upgrade for me to stay with the more comfortable phone for my use. The dual camera would need to absolutely blow it away.

When the 6 and 6 Plus were released I was so happy Apple finally decided to bring out larger phones as I had contemplated switching to Samsung. Whilst the Plus size can be impractical sometimes to me it's pros far outweigh it's cons so I chose the 6 Plus. Last year when I upgraded I got the 6S Plus. I will be sticking with the larger sized models for the foreseeable future.

Love my Plus sized phone and will never go down to a smaller size after having gotten used to it. The bigger screen is so much of a win.

I strongly suggest you get the Plus size to see if you like it. It will take a few days to get used to it, but you have 2 weeks to decide; if you find it's just too big for you, swap it in for the smaller size. Either way, you'll know. :)

Sticking to 4.7". Tried the 6 Plus for 2 months when it was first released and I couldn't stand it. It's not just the size but the increased weight, too. I just kept dropping the darned thing. Good thing the case I was using was fairly robust. I can't even do the slide to answer single-handed. There's a lot of things I can't do single-handed on the 6 but at least the basic stuff, I can do even with my other hand occupied carrying groceries or something.

The 6+ just felt like too much compromise for me. With the aspect ratio, I didn't find it much better than the 6 for web browsing. Besides, I have an LTE iPad which I carry with me everywhere. The 6+ just never felt like it was big enough that I can ditch the iPad. I often still need to do some finger acrobatics to handle the 4.7" iPhone 6 but that one, to me, feels worth the minor discomfort for the extra screen real estate over 4" iPhone models.

Switched this year to the Plus. Never going back to the smaller phones! This 6s+ is everything I always wanted in a smartphone.

For those debating and taking the iPhone cameras into consideration, I just want to add that my old 2011 Canon Elph 310 is in every way a better camera than even this 6s+. And I say that as a total Apple fanboy.

It's nice to have an onboard camera of decent quality, but even a proper 1/2.3" sensor camera still handily beats it, in both quality and versatility. Not to mention a high end compact like a Sony RX100 series.

That doesn't invalidate taking the iPhone camera into consideration. Most of us don't carry a camera around with us, but we all carry our phones with us. And the number of times a day we take pics with those devices we're carrying is substantial. Having a quality camera on the phone is essential ... that was the other reason I chose the 6 Plus (and again the 6S Plus) and why I'll be getting the 7 Plus (or Pro or whatever).

I've been using the plus iPhone since 2014. About two months ago I stepped down to iPhone 6s. I'm pretty happy with the size and glad I downsized. I actually wanted the SE but it lacked 3D Touch and the front camera is crap.

I'm going from a 5" Sharp Aquos Crystal Android phone to the 4" iPhone SE. (just ordered a 64 GB Silver from BoostMobile for $399) I'm really looking forward to that. Although I really appreciated the bezel-less design of the Sharp, Android still hasn't reached the refinement of iOS. Looking forward to getting back to iOS.

I like the 4.7 incher and sticking to it as long as Apple keeps making it. For me it's The 4.7 to 5.1 inch range. Ok. The SE isn't bad, but can be a bit small when you wanna watch videos and play.

The 5.5 inch is impressive, but I don't watch that many videos on my phone to justify the bulge in my wranglers.

I've been happy with the 6S Plus, but I like that the 4.7 is more pocketable.

After almost a year with the Plus I've realized that unless I'm traveling or talking on the phone, the iPad is my iOS device of choice 90% of the time, so the larger screen size isn't really necessary for my usage.

If the 4.7 has the same camera as the 5.5 + better battery life than the current 6S, I'll go smaller next time. But if the rumors about the 7 Plus/Pro having the better camera turn out to be true, I'll probably stick with the larger model.

This is exactly how I feel. I want to have the 'best' iPhone, but decided that the Plus side is too big. I need pocketability and to be able to operate it one handed. Unless the dual camera brings jaw-dropping benefits, I'll go with 4.7".

I'm switching from a factory unlocked space grey 128GB iPhone 6 to a factory unlocked space gray 64GB iPhone SE. Yes, currently have a 128GB iPhone 6 and I'll be switching to a 64GB iPhone SE. While I don't like the fact that I'll be losing half the storage space, I really dislike the 4.7-inch size of the iPhone 6. I much prefer the size of the iPhone SE. I am a one-handed iPhone user, and the iPhone 6 is impossible to use with one hand (I really dislike the reachability feature).
