And when you convert 12:00:00 to military time it's 00:00:00 right? And the start of the new day?

I would agree with that. Seems others don't

Where there would be some ambiguity is whether or not you'd go from 23:59:59 to 0:00:00 or 24:00:00. I could see the rationale for going to 24:00:00 and the day starting at 0:00:01

Wow. This is ridiculous. I want everyone to watch their iPhones tonight at 11:59pm. When it changes to 12:00, not 12:01, your phone will tell you that the current date is now Friday September 12th. Your calendar icon will change on your home screen, everything. I really hope that people know this...

Calm down. Calm down. Scientists and militaries don't use AM/PM because the definition isn't clear. They use 00:00~23:59 instead. Apple should have used "iPhone preorder starts on 00:00 on Sep 12, 2014".

Wow. That statement speaks volumes.

There isn't inherently wrong about using double negatives.

It is well defined. 12:01 is the start of the new day. 12:00 is midnight.

I don't even know why we need sources for this. You have to be retarded not to realize 12:00 / 00:00 is the start of a new day.

But since you used wikipedia, look at this

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12-hour_clock

on the right it even says midnight/12:00 is start of new day.

Umm pretty sure that wouldn't be accurate. more like 24:00

This whole thread is absurd. However check the OPs history it's hardly out of character.
Typical irrational and borderline illiterate behavior.

May be Apple should start pre-orders at 12:02..then whole discussion is futile. It's what Apple decided. You and me do not have an option anyways. When they are ready to sell, we are ready to buy. End of story.

There is no such thing as year "0".

1-100 1st
101-200 2nd

...
...

1901-2000 20th
2001-2100 21st
2101-2200 22nd

Correct. Absolutely correct. There is no year zero. 21st century started January 1st 2001. There is no such thing as 0 AD or 0 BC. Now to throw more confusion into the whole mess, UTC or GMT starts the new day at 00Z. One second before is the previous day, one second after is the next day.

That calendar is arbitrary, and stupid. So I made my own. And it's not like time started 2000 years ago.

Right. Time is misunderstood. It's really spacetime relative to mass. If you really wanna get complex about it. But it's probably easier to just have a standard of time that everyone can agree on and move on with life right?

That doesn't say 12:01 is the start of the new day. It just says 11:59 and 12:01 are used to avoid ambiguity. At best, it can be argued that the infinitessimal quantity of time during which it is exactly 12:00 is not a new day, but as soon as one quantum of time passes, it's a new day

0000 doesn't exist for computer coding time and transaction purposes. Simple as that. There is no conspiracy.

Military doesn't use 0000 either. Logs will stop at 2359 and begin again at 0001.

lol so minutes just go missing..ya right
