Everybody treats having to install Rock like a horrible punishment!
I don't see what's wrong with it...

rock app IMO is hands down the worst thing you could put on your fone

you kno somethings up when an app doesnt allow you to complete delete it off your device

There's gotta be a reason or many reasons behind it obviously.
If it worked great and didnt cause alot of problems or restores then everyone would be happy with it and wouldnt badmouth it.
We all have nothing to gain by promoting Cydia instead of Rock.
We're just trying to help and warn others thats all. If you want to use it its up to you. Just hope you dont have any issues with it.

Let's get the party started with complaints shall we?

How about unstable buggy program that crashes iphones forcing restores?

Or...

Programs that never seem to uninstall fully causing issues with Cydia running properly forcing restores?

Or...

Could it be the lack of support from the company itself?

They certainly felt the need to hook into Cydia's database of program offerings to make themselves feel relevant. What they spent a least a whole year with what, a dozen lousy applications and all for sale?

i said this b4 and i'll say it again

any developer who forces you to download rock in order to use their program is asking for their app to get cracked

i have no sympathy whatsoever for them

this is one of the few exceptions where piracy is ok in my book

We do have a lot to LOOSE if we promote Rock and NOT cydia. Saurik is one of the main reasons the jailbreak exists on the iPhone4 right now. I want him to succeed.

Yes, that along with him saving all of our SHSH's on his server is great in order to be able to restore or downgrade.
But still if cydia sucked as much as Rock we would still have many many angry users.

its theoretically workable, but you can never install rock updates via cydia. the purchases dont transfer between programs so its best to stick with one, cydia.

There's nothing wrong with Rock. When it first came out it had problems but a small group of haters have not forgotten. For them, Rock is the only application that had to be perfect from Release 1.0.

your implying that its perfect now
which couldn't be further from the truth

never had a problem with it and i quite like it.. people shouldnt listen to others about a program, if you like it use it, if you dont then who cares.. ive run it on my 3g and my i4 and my gf's 3gs and never had a problem.. cant see the big deal about it..

Rock works perfectly for me on
my iPhone 4.

Plays well with Cydia. No problems.

The only beef I have is with Rock
support. They will act like your best
friends when you ask them questions
about their product prior to purchase.
Once you purchase and ask them a
question they have no answer for
they refuse to send further emails.
This seems to be a common complaint
amongst Rock owners here.

So, great product but horrid customer
support.

If you say so though Saurik might disagree with you, But if your happy that's good. I just switched all my 3gs paid apps to my i4 np on Cydia all I had to do was sign in through Facebook or Google . I have had enough bad experiences with rock to avoid it for me but to each there own.

Love Rock.
I wonder if some of the hate is because it is kinda geared more toward the casual user rather than the hard core hacker?
Makes it too easy for the newbies?

that wierd. ive never had a problem with rock. i like it much more than cydia. its the first thing i install every time i jailbreak my ipod.

I assume you're talking about a cracked version but I paid for my update to version 4 and the only way to get it right now is to install Rock as well. I wish the developer would allow us to download it without Rock because I really have no desire to have Rock on my phone. I only have it on there because I use mywi and I remember that I didn't have to have it installed on my 3GS. Guess the developer just hasn't gotten around to offering the updated version like that yet.

Go install LockInfo through Rock and then talk to us. Go ahead, we'll wait...

RockExtensions and Mobile Substrates (Rock and Cydia dynamics libraries) don't play nice to each other. it is not that there anything against Rock, but most jailbrake application run on mobile substrate so when one required rock they start having issues.

not really true. I bought mywi thru cydia back when that other website was handling payments. then that other website went out of business and I had to get my license transferred to rock. the rock guy went thru every sale to find mine. so he was very helpful. I don't mind rock as a program really I like how its fast and much smoother then cydia but I agree with alot of the devteams protests that the developers of rock push their own apps even on the pages for other apps that do the same thing and that aint cool.
