Why and what is the tiny white symbol in my photo library?

iOS 18 18.0.1, iPhone 15promax:

What and why do some duplicate images, not all, show this tiny white logo on some of the image in my iphoto library?

I shot a printed piece of paper, doubt it. Does it represent incomplete download? I optimize my photo library w icloud?

It’s the panoramic icon, all right. The aspect ratio must be a little bit wide, perhaps.

Guess it's panoramic somehow. I only tried to shoot a close shot of a piece of paper. Thanks, guys.

when cropping an image top/bottom, sometimes it also produces this 'panoramic' icon to appear (and the image appears in the Panoramas folder as well...)
