And before Nike+? What makes a Nike shirt more valuable than a generic one from the same factory? Nothing. You're paying for a swoosh because you have been told over and over that its the best of the best.
Oh, and for the record, Bose is overpriced trash.
Point is Nike is innovating just like Apple. Heck even Microsoft is looking like an innovator these days which is shocking to most observers.

Innovation is tossed around too lightly today. But my point still stands, many companies are where they are today because they convinced people that what they make is better than anyone elses, when in actual fact they're essentially the same thing. What brands are you loyal to? Id bet at least 3/4 of them are due to excellent marketing telling you they are better than an identical product.
So creative artists(graphics, music, video) buy expensive Macs because it makes them feel important or because it's the best machine for the job?

I have some logitechs, they also have great bass. That's not the mark of a good system. They fit your needs (as my speakers fit mine) but that doesn't make them brilliant speakers. I bet you could find a replacement for your speakers/headphones for a fraction of the cost and equal performance, but becauae it doenst have the marketing behind it that Bose does, people will pass over it unless they actually know what to look for.

Apple is successful mainly because they know how to advertise and make things look pretty.
Apple offers top notch retail experience, technical support via genius bar, best packaging of products, best marketing and promotional events, best product designs, etc.
They are not selling snake oil (or any Bose products/placebo effects) hoping consumers are stupid enough to buy it.

A lot of it is image, people like beauty and elegance, the world puts that on a pedestal over many other things. I will say they make very good computers though, the whole line is solid. My one friend said "they don't do anything the best, but they do everything really well." kind of hit home for me.
Prices are high though for the specs we should be getting. That's just the market sadly, any other electronics maker would the the same thing if they could. I don't think insanely high, but the MBP 13 inch I got for right a grand new was still 100-200 high IMO even with it being 200 off retail already. Wish it had a dedicated GPU, 8 gigs of ram for the asking price.
Being able to sell them like that makes the profit margin higher though so hence why you see them rake in a lot of dough. Everyone can see how much an iPhone cost to make and how much profit they receive off each one. They can even skimp on RAM, and processor power on there and increase the profit margin. Just have that "it" factor and it's working for them.

Windows always reminds me of an office...ewww. I like Windows though, grew up with it. Always can skin it of course. Speaking of MS, they are taking too long with the XBOX XP...I mean 360 so I is more mad at them than Apple at the moment.
If Apple up the specs a shade and made a little more hardware choice... I repeat the word choice, and they also kept their current OS for 3 years before a new release, supported the old release after the new one for a total of 5-7 years I think that would a hell of a lot better.
Windows 7 is really good, but its pretty heavy IMO, kind of has to be cause of the legacy. And the 360 having to last till 2020 for some dumba** reason. Way to stagnate consoles MS 🙁

Actually it's quite possible, and they do miss on a lot of technical details. Peripherals and accessories usually get the worst of it. Check Apple Store reviews, and you'll see what I mean. I think you may just be a bit too carried away here. When I look at the link, the series of photos suggests that Apple sells via abstract atypical elements.
The author definitely chose one of the prettier Apple stores. He highlights the packaging (personally I preferred the nice recycling friendly brown boxes), then shows a picture of the dock and default wallpaper. Nowhere in there does he talk about the way things work or his experience using it. It's just gloss and packaging. You can't tell anything about product quality from the information presented here.
You should know this one. Their early support for desktop publishing made that industry very Mac centric years ago. Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, etc. hit the Mac prior to Windows. 3d modeling and animation has a much bigger market on Windows and Linux. Does that make those fields less creative? The video guys are really on Macs due to Final Cut and a few came over at the time of Shake. Autodesk's Smoke port might help there too given its price cut to $3500. They ported to OSX from their Linux turnkey systems. It may have been a more significant task going to Windows.
Promotion and marketing can only take you so far. If the products they are selling are not as good as the competition, people will not come back. Simple as that. Obviously the grand amount of consumers who continue to purchase these devices agree. Some of you need to stop denying the obvious in order to satisfy some odd desire you have for Apple to fail.

You act as though Apple products have stuff that others don't though, which is completely untrue. They offer virtually the same product, but because Apple is the king of advertising and salesmanship they are able to sell a lot more of their products than others. In some instances, yes, Apple clearly had the better product (the iPod for example), but with thinks like desktop computers, laptops, and phones they do not actually offer anything that others don't. This is where their advertising steps up and does the heavy lifting.
If you can't see that their advertising team is one of the strongest factors in their success then there isn't much I can do to help you.

There's the one I use. Those photos are definitely of inferior quality to those used in your link, but it's not quite as interesting of a store. Some of Apple's flagship stores look pretty amazing, but again that means very little when it comes to product functionality. I gave you a full explanation for why Macs are popular in those fields, and your response is that I'm full of hate🙄. I'm not sure if I was just trolled or you're really serious.
By the way, if it's about the sig, it's just a silly reference (do androids dream of electric sheep) and nothing more.
If you sold the same thing with better marketing than the next guy, it would still sell. The general public really is not very discerning. Their marketing is absolutely genius.

Does Apple make some decent stuff? I'm sure they do. But the fact is, they tout themselves as being upper end and revolutionary, when in reality their "upper end" hardware is laughable, and their "revolutionary features" are usually anything but.

Apple makes the gold standard for laptops, smartphones, all-in-one PCs, mini PC and tablets. Any product segment they choose to compete in they are the gold standard.
