45 minutes now. :D Here's hoping for you guys. I've given up trying to figure out what they're doing. Maybe they have, too. (Listen to me - I must be in a grumpy mood!)

I agree these launches seem half-arsed with not nearly as much cohesion and consistently we're used to seeing from Apple.

It's actually preventing a build up of anticipation and excitement for launch as the public don't really have anything like concrete information.

I think what they are signaling is intentional. That this isn't a core product yet and don't get your panties in a bunch waiting for it.

This ain't the iphone folks, calm down. A niche product, a niche release.

I bet when it becomes available and I'm at Best Buy first thing at that time that I may be one of the few.

What are you guys on about? That is literally no excuse for a poorly executed product launch.

I am not an Apple apologist and am very cranky with them lately.

That said, are reviews so important though? We've seen a few first impressions from Disney and Adobe.

The pencil and usage experience are best determined by the individual's needs and workload. Perhaps there aren't enough apps to take advantage of this screen / the pencil yet And so what if they're being ******s about the press?

Not speaking for anyone else, I only read reviews to find out specs / any software issues and leave the rest to hands on. I am not the best judge for many Apple devices (and my iPad record sucks. Already regretting the Mini 4 expense-wise especially in lieu of iOS 9 issues and typing. I wish they had something a little smaller than the plus sized phone that wasn't a phone.)

They seem to now officially be rolling out this new product without reviews up. Awful stuff.

There's one (but only one when I searched just now) up at The Verge, dated today.

These serial ****** launches no doubt cost Apple money. The massively frustrate impulse buyers and they generate returns due to redundant purchases online and in stores.

This seems like the appropriate place to complain... You can't get the Pencil today, 3-4 weeks for online ordering. Pencil is my only reason to be interested in what is essentially an oversized iPad, so I guess I have no reason to buy it. Really strange launch.

I'm in no rush to get the pencil, however I do believe that all of the iPad accessories should have been available at launch. I was just about to give Apple a pat on the back for doing better on this launch (than they did on the iPhone 6s and the Apple TV4) but they turned around and dropped the ball on the accessory availability
Well, guess perfection is an illusive quality that one one (other than a supreme being) possesses. ;)

Wow! Great Point, frankly I forgot all about her. It seems she's not like the guys that love to pontificate about Apple this and that...
Remember the launch of the MacBook Retina in April this year? Few units were available for purchase on launch day too. Seems like history is repeating itself. Deja vu.

Yeah, the pencil omission is a bummer, but not a killer (except for the vocal artists)

3 to 4 weeks is ridiculous though

Yeah, I am not a fan of Apple this morning. Why can't they make a firm date of release instead of this ambiguous launch? I can drive 45 minutes to a BestBuy in BFE and get a silver 32gb because it is available there...but no where else within 250 miles...wtf???

Why can't I walk into BestBuy this morning, and purchase the iPad I am wanting? I was able to do so with ease when the iPad Air 2 was released.

Apple really blew it this year.

It's becoming a habit with Apple, unfortunately.
