I bought my new 17" AG in an Apple store. The 15" HR AG was also available.

The AG models have the upgraded CPU and hard drive.

If you want a stock 15" or 17" AG you have to order.

Where is the Apple store you went to located?

Have you tried looking on their online store? You can use your BestBuy gift card online. The Bestbuy by me has a little in store apple area that sells all the apple products, iPod, iPads MacBooks and iMacs. I would check online I bet you can probably find it on their website.

Use your 750 in bestbuy gift cards to buy kindle book gift cards, which lets you buy anything on amazon. The buy said laptop from amazon. Done.

That is true, but sometimes don't those prepaid Visas go up to a certain amount?

It's still extra steps to get the prepaid Visa and use it to get Amazon credit and then use that credit toward the purchase, instead of using the prepaid Visa to apply directly towards the purchase. That's my only point.

craigslist is a pain in the arse but it might be my only choice, I also hate meeting people face to face for 750 in cash basically, id also have to sell if for like 700 because everyone would low ball me, and no one would be willing to do even, theres simply no point.

Also, be mindful that one chap went to sell his iPhone from Craigslist, met with the client and got bloody robbed!

If you go that route, be very mindful of meeting location.

Just sayin...

Why would you go through the extra step of using the prepaid Visa to buy Amazon credit instead of just using the prepaid visa as a form of payment at checkout? Too many steps....

This whole thread sounds like a first world problem, and I'm not sure if the OP is serious. I love best buy. They have so much cool stuff I can't afford. This post makes me want to write a strongly worded letter to anyone who doesn't carry every single apple product. Good job OP, this rant will help best buy better itself. I am sure of that

Hmm. You should be happy Best Buy stuck with the warranty. I worked there 4 years ago and don't remember them ever selling custom Macs. If I'm not mistaken, you can only get the anti-glare screen through Apple.

bologna.

I called the Apple store on Knox Street in Dallas and apparently they do offer all possible configurations of the 15" and 17" MBPs. This surprised me as the store in Plano and the store in Frisco don't offer more than three 15" and two 17" MBPs configurations (at least when I bought mine in December), and the only ones with AG had the upgraded CPU and hard drive.

If the store I bought mine from had told me the Knox Street store had all the options available I would have bought mine there so I could have the stock 128GB SSD.

I'm glad you do. I just find them to be way overpriced in general. There's a lot of great stuff there, but most of it is far too expensive compared to what you can get elsewhere.

Oh yea, No arguing with that. I just love it because at the moment I am so far away from it, and the last time I was there I think I sat in the home theater section watching "Monsters vs. Aliens" in 3D for almost an hour. It is a great store to "browse" but no so much for buying. It's like a showroom to me :D
