Why can't AT&T be more like TMO
Why would they? There's no incentive for them as long as people remain with them and keep them as one of the top 2 carriers. It's TMO and Sprint that constantly have to scramble for new customers since they're second tier carriers (by size).

so if you guys was what would you do??? that international perk Tmo has is really good cause i travel a lot but i really need that solid data i don't know what to do

Honestly, if TMO had better coverage (voice/data) in my area, I probably would have broken my contract with AT&T by now and switched over. Right now, I pay $153/month with my mom on my plan. I know I could easily save money by switching, but going into my local TMO store, I saw that their data coverage is pretty awful. Granted, I would be connected to wifi when I'm home, but I stream Spotify everyday on my half hour ride in to work, so I'd much rather be able to stream music than suffer through listening to the radio.

The day the TMO upgrades their cell towers around my area, I will certainly be kissing AT&T goodbye.

I don't get how cheaper is better if it comes at the cost of a spotty network? There's a reason plans at T-Mobile and Sprint are so much less than AT&T and Verizon....the networks at the former stink.

You can try out T-Mobil for a day ($10.00) and if you don't like it, stop. That is what I did. They give you one day or so to try it out

I switched to tmobile few weeks back. Mainly coz of the 70 dollar unlimited plan. I actually like it. I get 7-9 Mbps down usually and at work I get 12-15 Mbps down and I think it's more then enough and most of us are usually connected to wifi anyways. Yeah sometimes when I travel the connectivity drops to edge but I don't really mind. I will still choose tmo over att . Att are bunch of thieves :p

how is the customer service at Tmo compared to Att

I have found the postpaid CS to be superior. The people in postpaid know what they are doing and have never hung up on me or transferred me 20 times in one call like I have had happen on prepaid. Plus, prepaid reps are mostly out of the country although I have talked to a few reps who were clearly from the US.

I have a postpaid and a prepaid on T-Mobile.

Lucky you, I've been in the endless transfers on postpaid t-mobile

It's going to depend on coverage. Here in Denver, T-Mobile has AT&T beat in terms of coverage and speed.

There are several areas including my house where I do not het LTE on AT&T and when I do get LTE here in Denver, it tops out at just over 10Mbps.

T-Mobile tops out at 41Mbps and I get it at my house. There is one area near me where I get edge only but I drive through there and so it's not a problem.

Exactly I'm in the suburbs of Denver and get great service with T-mobile, even out at Castle Pines where AT&T has crap service I get LTE.

T-Mobile has us covered!

Unfourtanely there are some dead spots but that's what's to be expected regardless any carrier, I will admit though once you start to get out of suburbia I do see more Edge than I do 4G but I don't travel outside big cities/suburbs much so for me it works nicely.

Also another thing I hate about t-mobile, foreigners.

If I'm in America and I call a company servicing America, they should speak English NATIVELY.

It's highly annoying to have a problem with your service AND a problem understanding the people who are supposed to help with that problem

T-Mobile has very bad coverage where I live so for now I am on AT&T. If T-Mobile had lte and better coverage I might think about changing. I guess you get what you pay for lol.

I'd give AT&T a call again and ask to speak to the retentions department.
Tell them what you said above and the price comparisons and that you're thinking about switching away from them. Tell them you cant afford the high bill and are willing to make some compromises on coverage to make ends meet. Ask what they can do for you and if they can match it or credit your account.
Many times they will give a discount for $20-30 off per month for the next 6 months or a certain amount of credit towards future bill or something like that.
Cant hurt to try, if you've been with them for a while and paid on time they will do something to keep you usually.

You are on the money with this. I get a deep discount on my uverse bill every year by doing this. The downside? I have to call every year to get it put back on when it expires.

i think I'm gonna give tmo a shot do anyone know if i can suspend my att account?

so called att to suspend my account and told them my reason lets just say they made it worth my while to stay:D:D:D

AT&T does have a prepaid plan for $60 month that includes unlimited talk, text and 2GB of data. And no taxes or fees.

I switched to Tmobile from Verizon last month. Went from unlimited data on Verizon to the $30 5GB data plan 100min on TMO. Got a 5s and now LTE is awesome on Tmo. I got 8-9Mbps down on Verizon LTE in Tampa, but 25Mbps on Tmo. Obviously I don't use calling much, or when I do I use facetime audio or Hangouts VoIP, so I'm only concerned with data. No big deal!

How can I do this if my phone is still locked with AT&T?

I switched from AT&T to T-mobile a few months ago. Worst decision ever.

Where are you located?

What did they do? I've been threatening so many times and they just say they can't lower it anymore. I pay $151 for 2 iPhones (700 minutes, unlimited nights and weekends/mobile 2 mobile, unlimited data and texting). I hate this high phone bill.

My buddy switched to T-Mobile and keeps trying to convince me to switch. We live down in Miami, and AT&T is sucking around here lately. I want to do the $30 plan, I rarely talk so it'll be perfect for me.
