I've read all the reviews and none of them seem to say this obvious fact.

It's a big iPod Touch. That's fine if you want that, but if you want a tablet, you should wait for the iPad 3 with iOS5 because thats when Apple will start rolling out features and hardware that would actually let a person BEGIN to replace a netbook in terms of functionality.

What part of the iPad 2 doesn't begin to replace a netbook? I'm certain it will run iOS 5 as well. We also have zero concrete details about the iPad 3, so I'm not sure what your point is. I'm not saying that the iPad 2 is the most amazing device ever created, or has infinitely more uses than the iPod touch, but I think you're making a bit of an overstatement. I've played with my dad's iPad, and it actually does have several advantages over the touch (which I own two)

Everybody has their own choice to judge what they want/need.

If ipad is a big ipod touch to you, then it is.
To me, it's a nice tablet pc.

Because its not, Simple as that. . .

It's funny, I remember the first time I used an iPod touch, and my exact thoughts were 'Man, I'd love to have a big one of these.'

Why can't people realize that the iPad is more then a big iPod touch???

(See what I did there?)

Op it's obvious you don't own one. The screen real estate offers a huge increase in usable functionality. I say useable because even though you can do a lot of the same things on both devices it's a lot more practical and easier to do on an iPad.

That being said it's obvious that you started this thread for a response and shame on me for giving it to you.

Let's think of this scenario.

Me: Look at my new pool in my backyard, it's great. I can swim around, enjoy the sun and stuff.

Jerk Friend: It's just a big bath tub. You spent money on this thing?

Me: (incredulous) No it's not. It's a swimming pool. It's heck of a lot bigger than a tub. Look I'm swimming in it.

Jerk Friend: It's just a big bath tub. Why can't you admit it? Yeah your 52 inch plasma? That's also just a big 20 inch monitor. Just admit that. It's the truth.

you fail to see the big picture...
With bigger screen, there will be apps that can take advantage of larger screen. Obviously, people just want to talk crap about iPad.

Why not just say Motorola Xoom is a just big Motorola Droid X?

It's a big iPod Touch.

and I guess that makes all the competetors wanna be ipad touches without all the benefits of the Apple Ecosystem of apps and interface, simplicity and following.

One of the big advantages of the iPad is that it isn't a Netbook. I see zero value in a Netbook now that I have an iPad. I mean, what good is a Netbook compared to a laptop?

This whole thread is dejevu.

is a swimming pool just a big bathtub?
No, because it doesn't have the same functionality.

However, the iPod Touch and the iPad have the same functionality. The only difference is size.

lol, no.

It's how APPLE says a tablet should function today. Have some critical thinking.

No, if Apple wanted to come up with a tablet they would have. They created the iPad to be exactly what it is. Now the competition is trying do the same while at the same time trying to figure out what people like about this iPad that they, the competition, don't even understand....yet they are trying to build something just like.
