What Are you a paid Samsung troll? Is it so hard to accept the fact that I get 10 hours of battery life?

Please sir, refrain from foul language..and...on thencontrary.i have the same device as you and thats how i know u cannot..and a final step.pics or you are a straight up liar !

Okay, so to change the topic, why did you choose your iPhone? Was it the design? The smaller screen?

Please tell!

Back when I had one I chose it because I thought it was the best phone out.

I try every phone type though, right now I'm about to try windows phone

More like Jailbreaking = Stock Android
I've never had an Android, so I couldn't say. On the other hand, I customized my HTC Touch Pro which runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro to such a point that it's running Sense 2.1 w/weather (no ROM, just CAB files).

My jailbroken iPhone 5 doesn't resemble Sense very much.

You've essentially described the fallacy of iOS devices. Many of those software updates have more to do with stopping iOS jailbreaking than actually fixing security vulnerabilities.

More often than not they also (attempt to) fix bugs, too. Remember all the 6.1.x updates?

I, too, would like to see a screenshot of this. iPhones have fairly "meh" battery life.

My partner only used Apple devices. FaceTime was a biggie. Aside from those two reasons, FLUIDITY. Solid, consistent performance. Build quality.

Reasons:

1. Mature looking phone

2. Handles well with one hand

3. Solid build. None plastic like Samsungs

4. Wide enough. Too much wider and its a no go

5. iOS

6. Support

7. Return policy is 30 days from Apple. Without restocking fee's nor return shipping cost.

8. They offer AppleCare +

9. Damaged iphone by owner after warranty, and Apple can replace it for a bit over $229.00 bucks

I'm not bothered to wait until my iPhone battery dies, so this is what you see. I can guarantee you that it stays this way until it dies. I just don't want to waste time.

This is after playing games (including intensive ones like GTA Vice City), web browsing, and video playback. This is not a fake. The phone is jail broken with zeppelin installed, so the carrier logo is missing. I find it annoying that I have to post a screenshot purely because people don't have the same results as mine.

I LOVED my Galaxy S3! I'm an android girl all the way, but switched to the 4s because of one major feature, Face Time. IT. ALWAYS. WORKS. I just had a special needs child (a month ago) and my parents live 4 hrs away. My aunt lives with them and she has an iphone 4 and we do Face Time so that they can see the baby (they absolutely love him) and my 2 young daughters. My mom and dad just love being able to see the baby and how he is growing and of course seeing/talking with the girls. We do visit them, about once every 1.5-2 months, but babies/kids grow so fast, they don't want to miss a single thing. My dad thinks FT is so cool, he is now considering getting an iphone from VZW (at the end of July when we visit again). BOth him and my mom have been available for an upgrade for about 3-4 yrs now, they just don't want a smartphone....they are happy with their trusty MOTOROLA flip phones. The iphone is a solid great little phone :D, but I still miss my android customization. I miss the widgets :( . My parents are not phone savvy one bit so in order to make it easier on them, just using iphones was the way to go. NOw, if I can convince my dad to get the iphone 5 instead of the free iphone 4 (he can afford it) so that I can have it and he can have my 4s. I would love to have 4G again (I bought the 4s off of ebay so that I didn't lose my unlimited data through VZW). This i why I chose my iphone :)

I went the opposite direction of you.

I went from the iphone to the galaxy s 3 and I got an ipod touch for Facetime.

You can tether the phone to the ipod and it works just as well and you still get all the android benefits

I may go that route, but I'm enjoying learning ios. I'm sure I'll be itching to go back to android eventually. Not a bad idea about getting an ipod. I did use FoxFi for wireless tethering...also loved having unlimited 4g hotspot when FoxFi didn't work.

Although I already replied upthread, I've given this a lot of thought and have even done some research on galaxy phones to see what all the hoopla was about. We just bought our daughter a new iphone 5 on Sunday, which gave me some time to look at all the available smartphones at AT&T.

First, a confession. The Samsung phones really look cool! The TV commercials really draw me in, and make me wonder why Apple hasn't thought of some of their bells and whistles. But my research taught me that with the Galaxy, I would need to (be able to) set up the lock screen. Even though I could do it "any way I want to" that is not something I want to have to design. The apps are somewhere, I'm not sure where, but one reviewer I listened to said he liked how the apps weren't "staring you in the face" like on the iPhone.

When Steve Jobs designed the iPhone, he designed it to be easy to use for the masses. I'm one of those people. I want the apps on my home screen. In fact, my daughter said what she likes about the 5 is with the extra row, she can put all of her apps on the first page, so she doesn't even have to access another page.

So maybe I'm like the woman in the commercial someone posted, who is a little young to be using an iPhone, but I like how easy it is to use.

The other thing I noticed at AT&T, is that all of the other phones were too big. I already lived through the big cell phone stage when the dumb phones were first becoming commonly used. I don't want to go back to that. But in my area, the Galaxy is the phone of choice for women. The teenagers are still using iPhones.

Would it be fun to wave my hand over my phone to read my notification center? Sure. But would I have the same trouble getting it to work that I do when I wave my hand in front of the paper towel dispenser in the public ladies' room??? :D And I would love to have a TV remote control on my phone, but does it really work as advertised?

I've had my iPhone for three years, and have never had any trouble with it. I was able to get rid of my PDA, and incorporate all of those applications into my phone. Plus it has a lot more. I don't need to carry around a miniature computer.

The iPhone would be perfect for me if it would allow me to "select all" when I want to delete emails, and it would color code events on the calendar in month view. Other than that, I'm good to go.

Oh, one more thing....

When my daughter bought her phone, she made sure she backed up her old phone before going to the store. Then AT&T had her sign into her iCloud account at the store, and they switched everything over to her new phone. She didn't lose a thing, including her pictures, music, and text messages. It was a seamless process.

I don't know if that is the case with other phones, perhaps someone else can speak to that.

My employer said, "Here's an iPhone. You can use it as your personal phone if you'd like."

Yeah its great to try and experience different operating systems.

I've had webOS, ios, android, and I'm now waiting for my phone to come in the mail so I can try windows phone 8.

My advice to anyone is to try different OSes because it's not good to limit yourself to one thing. You may find one that's clearly better, like how I was crazy about the iphone, then I got a galaxy s III and stuck with it (until the lumia gets here).

it just works. i had android before and i currently have a lumia 520 as backup phone. i don't really like either of them. especially android, i spent way more time on tweaking it than using. however, my only problem with windows phone is, i couldn't find the 'lock screen orientation' button. it just drives me crazy.

plus, i can load my textbooks on iphone with inkling, which is only available to iOS devices.:D hate to carry books around.

I started with a Windows Phone (Focus), moved to the iPhone 4, moved to an Android (a Nexus), and finally ended up back with Apple and an iPhone 5.

Why did I go back to Apple?

- More apps and better apps. The iPhone has, undeniably, the BEST app store out there. It's organized well, it has a HUGE selection, it has a massive amount of games, and the apps are (generally) all optimized and run beautifully. In comparison, Windows Phone is a barren wasteland and Android has a horrendous lack of games and is missing a few core apps.

- Compatibility. I found nothing that compares to Apple devices in this regard. iTunes is magnificent and all my app purchases work on both the iPad and iPhone. Everything just synches together incredibly well. Is it perfect? No. But Apple is an entirely different league in this regard compared to Android. Android has a MASSIVE lack of apps that are designed for a tablet. Worse, there's no guarantee that what you buy for your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will work on your Galaxy Nexus. Too many variables, especially in terms of how well something will run.

- Speed and battery life. The iPhone 5 is miraculously fast and has amazing battery life. It's ridiculous that Android requires numerous processors and gigantic batteries to reach similar levels of speed or battery life (and sometimes even then they don't). Graphics on iDevices are superb as well.

- Efficiency. I never found that widgets made me THAT much more efficient. Is it nice to see certain information at a glance? Sure. But in most cases you need to open an app or service to get the full story anyways. On my Nexus I felt like I was cutting out seconds of my time for a generally underwhelming experience as a whole. Widgets were not worth the trade off. And don't even get me started on how Windows Phone is virtually incompatible with everything. Not to mention its "symbol" button layout is atrocious. There's a reason why most phones utilize text buttons.

- Google apps run DAMN good on iPhone. I use Gmail, Google Maps, Google Earth, and Google on a very regular basis. And, shockingly, I found that I preferred how they worked on my iPad and iPhone. They're also extremely fast.

- Hardware. It's awesome. I'll admit the aluminum on the iPhone 5 wears very quickly. That was a huge design oversight. But if you can stand to keep the phone in a slim protective case? It's beautiful. The screen size is perfect, it's very portable, works great in one hand, is light, has a great camera, and the screen is insanely crisp. I'm honestly not swayed by a screen size above 4.3". I find a screen too large becomes detrimental in the end.

Having run the full circle I have no intentions of going back. Galaxy phones may have big beautiful screens, but that's all they have going for them IMO. And I think it is supremely telling that Android is a Google made OS... But Samsung is the only Android brand really gaining traction. And they don't even use stock! So no one is even really using Google's vision of the OS!

I'll be using Apple devices for what I believe to be a long, foreseeable future. And I never thought I'd be saying that a year ago. But here I am.

I had a Samsung Galaxy Vibrant for two years and tolerated it. The phone was glitchy and I just wasn't feeling the whole Android thing when all of my other products were Apple.
Then Tmobile got the iPhone. I went and got mine on launch day and I never looked back. I brought it home, set it up, synched my contacts from Google and thst was it. I feel like with the Samsung, I was always thinking about the phone's performance, or lack thereof. With the iPhone, I don't think about the actual phone. I just use it. And it works every time. Flawlessly. To me, that's the way it's supposed to be.

Lol like there is sooo much choice. I had a 3G on contract for awhile, my contract came up, my phone was old and decrepit so I got the 5.

System lock.

I have been using iPods since the original back in 2001. Ever since, I have integrated Apple products into my life where I could, if I could afford it. One great experience leads to another - now I have an iPhone 5, iPad 4th generation, and a Macbook Pro. I have become the unofficial 'Apple Genius" in my family (to my detriment).

Thus, I have been using iTunes for quite a while and have a large, tidy, and hugely metadata'd library - and it's lossless. Apple Lossless.

The idea of moving my entire music library into a different format and hoping to God it keeps the extensive metadata I have built into it over many years is to daunting for me. I just don't want to do that work.

I got mine because the screen on a display model looked awesome compared to the gs3 in my hand and I decided to buy it. I love nice LCD screens.

But its going on sale soon now that I have a google edition gs4. Thanks to the jailbreak devs, they made my stay on it bearable for a good 5 months.
