It’s really annoying. I never needed Touch ID for this. But now anytime I go to a website it wants to authentic me with faceID before it will fill in my autofill password. This is annoying because faceID doesn’t work when laying down.

That's utter garbage because it has yet to fail for me while laying down.

Try redoing your Face ID setup. Mine works flawlessly.

I have the same issue and its really annoying. I have some websites that don't allow "keep me logged in". This means that every single time I visit this website, I have to wait for FaceID to scan my face. Even if I don't want to log in.

Cause they want to know its you posting and tweeting and facebooking. And they want to see your mood when you do it. Nothing strange at all. Right.

Soon it will be for every post.

This is easy to fix. Turn off the safari auto fill option in settings—face Id and passcode

Then you lose autofill, no?

Having to use Face ID for saved passwords is just plain dumb. I think it’s just Apple trying to fluff up the usefulness of Face ID. I never had to use Touch ID to enter an autofill password before. Why should I now? I already verified my face when I unlocked the phone.

Are you people who say it’s working “flawlessly” saying that you don’t have to scan your face each time you use an autofill password?

I had this issue when laying down and so did many others here and elsewhere. It’s not utter garbage just because it hasn’t been a problem for you.
