Thanks everyone for tips!

I had a terrible drain on fresh MBP 2019. Though my old late 2013 buddy was OK in any case described above.

Before going to sleep 60%, morning - fully drained.

What helped me resolve the issue:
1) Turned off Bluetooth
2) Turned off iCloud folders sync
3) I bet this is the one - turned off Find My Mac feature.

Next morning drain is back to normal 1-2% overnight.

Find My Mac and Bluetooth were my problems.. Turns out the computer was connecting to the Magic Mouse I forgot to turn off lol

Is your battery draining again too?

Yeah, that’s what I meant. I closed the lid at 50% Friday night and left it on the coffee table. Woke up to 6%. Oh well, it’s been years of it doing this. My battery in general depleted pretty quickly. I think I get two solid hours from a 100% charge.

It’s 8 years old. Runs like a champ except for the battery draining overnight and also quickly in use. I’m sure my overclocked memory has something to do with it and also running the latest OS hog Catalina.

Crap ... just checked it again last night. Went from 100% to 93% in about 8 hours. Apple seems to be tone deaf on this (in addition to their new Mac Mail issue of not allowing you to move columns and column width, no "quick click" at the tops of those columns to sort up or down, etc.).

My Macbook Pro 2015 13" also drains about 20% in 10h. Wifi, Bluetooth, Find my Mac, TCPKeepAlive, Notifications turned off. I did a fresh Catalina installation

I don't know, I don't expect Apple to do much here for me. My machine is unsupported and I think they call it Vintage.

Forum: Some good news ... well, kind of/sort of. I was able via email to reach a senior executive at Apple and told him about the battery drain during sleep, which piqued his interest. He and his team are looking into it. Let's hope it comes back with something favorable.

Not related to this forum, but the new columns view/non-moveable columns with Apple Mail is not an oversight or mistake and may be permanent. Ugh.

Well, as Meatloaf didn't sing, "One Out of Two Ain't Bad".

That's good to hear. I hope they fix it, although I don't have high hopes. I've had this issue since 2016 with 13'' MBP. I got a new 2019 13'' MBP few months back with same exact issue. I tried every single tip. I was getting 8-12% drain overnight. The only thing that helped was
sudo pmset -b tcpkeepalive 0 (disables findmy mac)
sudo pmset hibernatemode 25 (forces it to go into hibernate mode where RAM is asleep)
sudo pmset -b standbydelayhigh 7200 (after 2 hours goes into full standby mode)
sudo pmset -b standbydelaylow 7200

But I still get 5-6% drain over 12h even with hibernate which makes no sense. Pmset -g log shows no activity, but the computer just wakes up with less power even though hibernate is supposed to be very energy efficient. So my theory is that something is off with the batteries since 2016 since my 2015 MBP doesn't have this problem.

I think this is OS problem. Started happening some time ago to my 2016 15”. I remember when I bought it would drain 1-5% while sleeping for few hours. Now it’s more like 15-20%, sometimes more with all apps closed (and I got my battery replaced this year). Say what you want but Apple products are getting buggier year by year.

I've rolled back the OS's to see if this is it and it didn't help. Maybe I didn't roll back far enough. I think I went to Sierra with no luck.

All computers lose power while sleeping. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about. Sleep mode still monitors for things like network activity (which you can turn off) and a bunch of other things.

That's not what we're talking about here. All computers don't lose 30% overnight.

Yea, got that. This is a 200 post thread. Go back and read up on all the “settings” we tried.
Any luck with your settings? I spent 6 hours on support doing diagnostics with two different Catalina versions where the computer loses 15% overnight. With Mojave it would lose 2%. At some point they saw my ram was 16Gb which exceeded the 8GB limit so they wont deal with an out of spec warranty. Really pisses me off I have a functioning computer with Mojave and then install their update, and it goes to ****. Installed 10.15.4 for Catalina and same crappy results.
Looking for any which way I can get back to 2% overnight..

My new 16" base model is exhibiting this issue, sadly. Last night it went from 98% to 63% this morning.
My other 2019 13" MacBook Pro doesn't do this, and I had left default settings on both.
I'm going to try some of the fixes in this thread and report back.

It is frustrating. Unfortunately I have just learned to live with it. I’ve tried everything in this thread. It’s unfortunate to hear some of the new models are doing it. That was going to be my fix - get a new machine. Boy would it be disappointing to get a new MBP and have it do this.

I will say, sometimes I open the lid after a night on the coffee table and I’m surprised at how little it drained and sometimes I’m down 30%. Since the last Catalina update it’s been better.

Does your body stop using resources while sleeping?
Yes, mine does.
As per the MacBook though, I've never reached the morning and needed a defibrillator to wake me through lack of energy no matter what happened during the night.

We don't mind helpful posts but maybe I've missed the point made in yours?

Well done, I must have missed this ignorant, unhelpful, smart ass remark. I'm not a diplomatic as you:)

I tried to be, but I couldn't resist some sarcasm.
Apple software quality has REALLY annoyed me lately. I have this problem on my MacBook and the at least daily BridgeOS crashing on my Mini.

What seems to have worked for me, (I'll see over the coming days), is this;

Uncheck, "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer".
