Why do MS apps launch so slow?

I remember maybe a decade ago the reason was the number of fonts you have installed.

Today, the reason is simply, "It's Microsoft".

I use a custom domain for business. I couldn't buy it outright and use it, unless I got misled. Do correct me here if I am wrong.

I must be missing something here. Are you talking about licensing or function?

I see nothing that would prevent functioning properly, but I may be wrong. Please explain.
