Macbooks have much better build quality than most laptops on the market. No cheap plastic, the keyboard works well (if you like the layout), the trackpad is peerless, and the screen is somewhat high quality. Some professional grade Windows laptops offer similar quality, and the odd consumer laptop like the Sony Vaio S, but most Windows laptops marketed towards consumers tend to be built horribly. You're paying a lot for build quality and aesthetics if you want to use a Macbook as a Windows laptop, but to some people it's worth it.

All that said, I only use Windows to run programs unavailable on OS X, and so far I've avoided installing a Windows partition on my Macbook.

I run Win7 on Virtualbox... b/c well, there are stil programs that run better on Win then the Mac counterpart etc. For one thing I trade Forex, and unless something changed MT4 etc sucked donkey balls on Mac. You had to run the platforms customized like through codeweavers or other stuff similar to crossover, and still does not work right. Even something like Office runs better on Win then the Mac version, have Open Office as well and prefer MS Office.

I've honestly had more issues with OS/X than I ever had with Windows. And I agree to what someone said that "Finder" is just mehhh. Before I would say OS/X was better, but Win 7 pretty much nulled any advantage (and is what crappy Vista should have been in the 1st place). Like right now I'm having issues with Chrome not opening, easy to fix on a PC... nightmare to work around on a Mac. And working around in Terminal is a pain in the ass imo.

Now why did I get a Macbook Pro
trackpad
battery life (nice being able to watch 2-3 movies easily on a plane)
backlit keys (some Win ones have it now too)
aluminum build (don't think I could go back to a plastic laptop though some like HP have introduced them and Sony I believe)

I agree that Win 7 improved upon the OS immensely; XP was and is dated, and Vista was and is a nightmare. However, Windows' file browser is really the only advantage I think I can give Windows (besides, obviously, a wider range of software supported). Win won't support virtual machines without additional software until Win 8, and I'm not even certain that Win 8 will support virtual desktops natively. OS X's swipe gestures also put OS X laptops far ahead of Windows laptops, at least in my estimation (it's so much easier to browse the internet, among other things). I also tend to thin that search functions on OS X (Spotlight, Finder's search) tend to be a bit more advanced than their native counterparts on Windows.

Pretty much this and the fact that OpenGL gaming performance is pretty subpar compared to DirectX 11 under Windows 7. Also if you do any IT work in a company Windows 7 is pretty much a must and parallels performance is nowhere near as good as a bootcamp partition. Don't get me wrong I love OSX but I mainly only use it when I'm mobile without a power source. I get the best of both worlds strong performance under Windows 7 and awesome battery life under OSX. Though I do miss the trackpad gestures once on my Windows partition :|.
