I use the might mouse as well as the wireless keyboard mostly because it matches my 24" LED ACD and Mac Pro. If it wasn't for that reason I would get a logitech mouse in a second, so I tolerate it. The Mighty mouse feels cheep and it's not very accurate. The Mighty mouse is not a very good mouse. My Logitech mouse that's hooked up to my Windows Vista computer beats the Mighty mouse in almost every way.

I wuv my mighty mouse:)

I saw this question and just had to post a quick note to my mighty mouse;)

While I'd never use the Mighty Mouse, as a CGI modeler I need a far more robust mouse with a sturdy clickable scroll ball, but I do love the chiclet keyboards...they'd be even better if there was a version with the black MBP keys and backlighting !

I got my MM (and keyboard) second hand (no pun intended) from my neighbor. The scroll ball is fantastic for moving through large images. It does need a good cleaning every month or so though as does the white keyboard.

If we are talking keyboards here I just wish they would backlight them like my MacBook Pro. I still think their BT keyboard is the best though. I am just saying they have something they could improve. Then they could put and S on the name of them. :p

Backlighting would be awesome...and black keys!

What? "... doesn't know how to type."? I mean, they're usable, but they are not the best keyboards for SERIOUS typing. There's a reason why people who really type a lot still prefer keyboards with buckling-spring technology (a la the IBM Model M).

I'd buy one, if it didn't cost so much. http://www.daskeyboard.com/

I type a lot, by any standards, and I find that the softer the keys are, the less strain you feel on your fingers.

Those heavy-keyed keyboards are a pain and I can't stand the amount of pressure I have to make to type. I also hate the noise. The days of the typewriters is long gone.

black keys would just make them look like crap with the wear, finger oils in a few weeks like the MBs.

naw, my MBP's keys look pretty much the same as day one. I just wash my hands regularly, no problems. I'd definitely prefer black keys, white's looking pretty dated imo, which is what it is really, just a personal aesthetic preference.

+1. I thought the Black Keys were going to be a problem, but they're not.

Can you replace the wireless keyboard keys with MBP keys?

Apple hasn't offered a decent mouse _or_ keyboard since back in the "ADB days".

Damn straight. My second favorite keyboard of all time right behind the old IBM units. I can't figure out why they don't make keyboards of that quality anymore. You can occasionally find some of those IBM keyboards going for big $$$ on eBay.

To safely clean the keys.

Most of my time spent on my unimacbook is after I get the kids in bed. Which requires multi tasking which is usually eating my dinner, reading email and doing bills. So I found out pretty quickly those black keys get greasy looking really fast. To clean I use Sprayway sprayed onto a soft cloth and wipe the keys and all the flat surfaces. Looks like new when I am done.

Sprayway is a cleaner made of distilled water and a couple different types of alcohol so I figure if a any migrates into the keys it should evaporate quickly without causing problems. Works good on the white keyboards and might mouse too.

P.S. The only reason I like to mention the above product is because many types of cleaners can cause problems. Years ago, some idiot I know, *me* sprayed a little windex on his new compaq laptops screen and totally ruined the screen. Doh.

I bought one from Unicomp. It's incredible. The company owns the patent from the old IBM Model M's. I have the "Spacesaver" model and it's completely awesome.

Get the USB version. Takes about 2 weeks from order to delivery. Well worth the wait. Mine has a manufacture sticker on the back that says May 25th 2009. It's great.

On a related note, I hate the MM. Love my Logitech MX Revolution.

I got my iMac in April and tried for 2 months to learn to love the Mighty Mouse, but it never happened. I hated the tiny scroll ball, the bottom surface didn't slide on my desk smoothly (never had a problem with any other mouse), and the cord was too short. I got a Rocketfish bluetooth mouse to replace it ($25 at Best Buy) and I love it. Looks perfect with the rest of the set up, too.
