I have 3 currently.

3g 15gb
My first iPod, bought it new. It is touch sensitive for all buttons and actions, meaning you don't have to press on it to use it. Works great in my pocket , and the backlight for the buttons is a nice feature to have in the car when I have it set for the Backlight to stay on constantly

5g (RevA) 30gb
Use this primairily for videos for both iTunes and iPod playable videos, along with avi, mov, mpeg movies that I watch on my computer. It is usually full, and I tend to rotate the ripped and compressed DVD movies (all of which I own) in and out of it.

nano (RebB) 2gb
Not sure yet, I just bought it today, but my plans are to use this iPod for Motocross practice, training in the gym, and for times I don't want my larger 3g in my pocket.

In currently have a 2gb Rev. A Nano which I use for practically everything from runining, gym and everyday use.....I am probably going to get a 30gb Rev A video as they area good deal on refurb and will allow me to carry round all my music ont he road as well as videos,

SHadoW

I have an "old" 5G iPod, plus a shuffle for during school because for some reason I think the shuffle is less likely to be stolen.

My Three iPods

4G 40GB B&W
This iPod is used primarily in the car or at my stereo in the apartment where I do not have the Airport Express.

1G 512MB Shuffle
I bought this for how cool it was. I got it as soon as it came out. I was going to dump it on ebay when they were commanding higher prices, but I couldn't not open it when I got home. It, along with an armband, is awesome for working out.

1G 2GB Nano
This iPod will be coming to me next week along with a Nike+ kit. I'm really hoping this will get me back into the healthy routine. That's how I justified that purchase.

My iPods

60GB photo
I use this mainly at home and work, connected either to the hi-fi or external speakers. It's my mobile music store and I also use it on long car journeys through the iTrip.

512MB shuffle
This gets used when I'm out on my bikes or walking, it's light enough and tough enough to not have to worry about damaging it. It's also used for short car trips like going to work connected to a cassette adaptor.

I posted before, but here is a pic of my friends in my homemade display case:D

I have a 30 gig 5g video iPod which does it job well, but I want one of the new Nanos for the looks and Nike Sport Kit. I also have a shuffle, which I don't use too much.

I have 3 ipods... a 1G iPod, which I'll never ever sell just because of the looks I can get when I use it. Everyone wants to know what it is.. is it like some sort of iPod rop-off? I laugh.

I also have a 20 gig 3G, and a 10gig 3G. My 20 gig broke, I got the 10 gig, repaired the 20 gig, and so now I have an extra.

Right now I'm thinking I'll take my 10 gig apart and put the HDD into a 5.5G iPod, if I can find one cheep w/o a HDD.

I only have one iPod currently a 5G 30GB one, I can see why you might want two so as to have a flash based one for running/the gym, but cannot see why you'd want more than that, I mean all iPods are pretty small...

I have a first generation 4 GB Nano for running and everyday use. I also have a 60 GB video iPod for backup of my pictures and music, for watching videos, for taking to work to show something to the kids (I'm a teacher), and for listening to music when I can't decide what to listen to before leaving the house.

I find the Nano's memory a little small and the battery life rather short, so (God willing) I'll buy an 8 GB unit tomorrow. (I said that last Sat. only to be let down by slow-slow Apple Korea.) I already have an eager buyer lined up for my 4 Gb Nano.

I have six iPods at the moment, and plan to pick up a new 8GB Nano soon. Also, if i take advantage of the student mac + iPod then ill probably pick up a 60 GB 5G too. I currently have:

three 20GB 3G iPods
20GB 4G iPod
512 shuffle
1G iPod mini (given to me for free recently)

There are two reasons why i have so many, these are...

a) I use them in different places connected to various stereos, as well as using the 4G with me most of the time, and the shuffle in the Gym.

b) I collect them. I picked all but the 4G and shuffle 2nd hand or as refurbs.

I've got a 3rd Gen 30GB as my 'primary iPod' and a 512MB Shuffle for excersise or any other time that I want to hear music don't want to worry about losing or breaking my iPod...

i have a 10 GB first gen. cause well, it was my first iPod and my first apple product. the battery doesnt work so its useless as a protable. but i will ocasionaly use it to transfer files b/w computer b/c it works when it is pluged in. i mostly keep it around for historical reasons. i also have the very first Rio mp3 player which still works, if i had a computer to plug in the paralell port to!

then i have a 20GB 4th gen which was my main iPod, though I am thinking about giving it to an iPod-less friend (i already know which friend, so dont start asking!)

then i have my brand new 80GB iPod which rocks! loaded with 51 GB of music right now.

i had a shuffle. but it decided to stop working the other day. i used it a lot while commuting (taking the train/bus) cause its much easier to stash in a pocket than a full size iPod. not to mention it is much more durable! i supose i will get a new 2nd gen iPod shuffle to replace it, but i really liked the thumb drive capabilities of the 1st gen iPod shuffle, so maybe i should find a referb one.

anyway, if one iPod is cool, then 4 iPods are cooler!

I personally have a 4GB mini and a 4th Gen 40GB. I am a tech freak who cant bear to throw out technology (unless it is really expensive) so i keep it.

most people use them for different roles, ie a shuffle or nano for jogging and a video for a higher capacity. however, there are others like me who just cant throw anything like that out.

I've got 2:

30GB Black 5G (Old)
My main iPod, don't use it @ school. Everywhere else is great. Mainly for video.

1GB Shuffle (old)
Secondary iPod, mainly used as a flash drive. Also for running:D

I don't see the purpose but sometimes I catch myself with both iPods on me when i go places. I feel like a complete idiot when I do that..

well, it would be for practical use, or collection? anyway, I have 7 ipods. yeah, many.

4G 20GB ipod, 30GB ipod photo, 2G 6GB ipod mini, 5G 60GB ipod video, 1G 4GB nano, 2G 4GB nano, 1G 512MB ipod shuffle.

now, I am using only three of them (ipod video, two nanos) the rest is for my own small gallary collection. :p

first time when I knew ipod, it was very interested, then used it a lot. as time goes by, it has been changed from using to collection as a part of hobby(?). it's much cheaper than mac. so I can buy it whatever I want. I guess I will probably get 2G ipod shuffle, too.

Oh, ipod video is good for a long trip as you know. 1G nano is only for workout. it's very abused (got a lot of scratches), still work great. but I don't care anymore. new 2G nano is for town use like commuting, using in my office, driving around the town, and so on. it's for short travel.

I think I will get rid of other ipods soon. nobody use it. even my girlfriend is prefer to new ipod.

You may have won today's MacGeek award. :D Nice case.

I have a
5GB 1G - use as portable hard drive.
40 GB 3G - use for running/biking - don't care if it gets screwed up anymore. Replaced the battery myself a few months ago.
60 GB 5G - use for watching TV/movies, commuting time and listening to at work.

I have two, but one won't hold a charge (even with a new battery) so the second one is just a replacement.

That said, if I had the extra money right now I'd buy a new 80gb.

Have: 2G20/4G40/5G60 plus 512KB/shuffle.rev1 and 1GB/shuffle.rev1 (one shuffle was an embassed/branded gift from a vendor we work with).

Newest one for me, older ones passed on down the family chain to "repurpose" them. Shuffles for yardwork and other activity where I wouldn't dare drag a 5G.

Well it kind of became a hobby:D
I have 1st gen 5gb the "rookie card" the one that started it all.
A 2nd gen 10gb this one was sold to me real cheap so...why not?
3rd gen 15gb ahh..my first iPod.....bought new still in A+shape w/ box.
3rd gen 30gb bought as a broken one but only needed a new hd ribbon cable.
currently my daughters iPod.
3rd gen 40gb another screaming deal and I love those 3rd gens.
4th gen 20gb given to my other daughter..don't need the children fighting...:p
I plan on buying al the other models in due time just beacuse I'm thoroughly addicted.
On deck for my lil collection is another 1st gen 5gb, and a 1st gen 4gb Nano.

- 2nd Gen 20gb Ipod bought for my wife a couple of years back for her birthday that we load up and use with portable speakers on holiday or in the car
- 2GB White Nano that the wife uses on her commute
- 2GB Black Nano that I use when on the train, in the car etc
- 1GB Sony walkman thing I use for running - got something ridiculous like 50 hours battery life so I rarely have to charge the thing and I just permanently keep it loaded with 'running' music as I hate using SonicStage.

To be fair, my wife won both of the nanos, if she hadnt she would still be using the ipod and I would suffer sonicstage more often rather than using the sony as a pure running walkman (for which it is bloody fab).
