i saw this girl at school pull out of her bag: a video ipod, a nano, shuffle, and a mini... and laid it next to her other stuff while she looked for her wallet... and i thought she robbed about 4 kids on her way to class... but heres what she said exactly: "I wear one ipod to match what im wearing." I almost laughed at what a waste of money that is...

   just buy a few cases

I had a 4g 20 gig i used for everything (Until I busted it)

Now I have a 1g 1 gig shuffle I use for everything. (Becuse my libary is only about 200 songs, although I'm sure as time goes on its gonna get bigger; in which case, I'll buy a 1g 4 gig nano)

I asked this same question..until I got more than one...

60 gig is my music vault. everything is on there and its generally used in the car.

nano 2 gig , for exercise(nike +) and as a home ipod. i just it around the house for whatever. only top rated songs on there.

shuffle, i use as a flash drive really or when i forget to charge either the nano or the 60. sometimes i use it to fall asleep with too. as well as in the studio at school because it can be worn around my neck its pretty much out of the way when i am working.

I have a 30GB 4G for my music and movies that i use on trips and in my car, and 4GB 1G nano that i use while exercising and at work... and then i got a 512MB 1G shuffle from my boss at work that is engraved w/ our company name that i use as a flash drive and sometimes for a little music when i feel like it...

I want to buy a new iPod now that my 15 gb one is full.

I am trying to hold out for the true video iPod, but....

multiple iPods

I have a 5.5G iPod running off of my 24" iMac and a 5G running off of my Mac mini. I have a new shuffle arriving soon and I want to get the Red Nano... the nano will connect to the iMac and the Shuffle will connect to the mini... how do I put one particular playlist into the new iPods without over flowing them with 20 gigs of music and movies...? Is it sufficient that each iPod have a different name and will iTunes keep them each happy with their own playlists? Thanks...

I have a 2G Shuffle coming...hopefully soon
a 4g Nano, an 8g Nano, and a 30g Photo. I have multiples because I don't want to move them around all the time, one Nano in each car, the 30g hooked to the home stereo, and the Shuffle will be for excersize, etc.

My 2G iPod is still alive, but I wanted more space and the ability to watch video and download photos from my camera.

And, my wife has an iPod Mini.

The 2G iPod makes a fabulous backup drive, however.

30GB iPod 5th Generation:
This one holds my entire music and video collection (20GB). I mainly use it for video, or for music in the car or at home in my iPod Hi-Fi.

8GB iPod nano 2nd Generation:
The iPod I use the most. It holds my entire 5 Star playlist (7GB), and all recent podcasts.

1GB iPod shuffle 1st Generation:
This one holds 200 of my absolute favorite songs, with a few hundred MBs left for data so that i can copy stuff between my laptops. I also use it when it is too risky to use either of my other iPods.

Just purchased an 5G 80GB iPod Video, mostly because of gapless playback. If you listen to classical music, Pink Floyd, or live recordings, it's a must.

My first iPod was a 3G 15GB. Within a month of getting it, I went on an importing rampage and my iTunes Library jumped from 10 to 20 GB. So I quickly Craig's Listed it and got a 3G 40GB, which I still own (though I did end up replacing its battery).

When I got the 5G, I thought about selling my 3G. But then I figured if the 5G ever goes down and I need to have it serviced, I can't be without an iPod. I listen to mine at least 10 hours every day. So I'm keeping the 40GB in a safe place, and hoping I don't ever need this insurance policy...

I have two – a 20GB 3G iPod that I've had for a couple of years now, and one of the new 2GB nanos that have just come out. The 3G hold my entire music collection and is the iPod I generally use for that reason, but I bought the nano to listen to when I go running. That way I don't risk damaging the 3G's hard drive and I can use a Nike+ kit to track my runs.

I have a 3G 30 GB iPod, and a 2 GB original nano. The 3G iPod has a dying battery, but it holds all my music. The nano doesn't hold all my music, but it's smaller and easier to carry around, and has decent battery life.

Well, some owners of multiple iPods own several bercause they buy new ones and keep the old ones. Say they buy a 3G, and awhile later they decided they wanted the new Nano. They own multiple iPods, and there is really nothing wrong with it.

People who own multiple iPods also may want them because they like each of the iPods: the Shuffle's size, the Nano's size+storage, and the 5.5G's video capabilities.

Well, I wouldn't want to take my 5G Video iPod out when I'm mountain biking--its expensive, and theres no need for all the features. So the Shuffle is perfect! I hit play on my shuffle, throw it in my CamelBak, and forget about it. :D

On the flip side, when in my car the Shuffle just wouldn't do... Definitely need the larger capacity, and a screen...

agreed 100% I also mountain bike and the Ipod video that I have is much to heavy and expencive compared to the shuffle.

My video iPod is for using on a plane, or lying in bed and catching up on TV Shows.

My new 2G nano is for playing in the car cause radio sucks.

My new 2G shuffle is for the gym.

Oh, and if I'm going to do something where my iPod might get hurt (like hiking) i take my old Ipod Mini.

Why would you not have 4 iPods?!? Geez

Bored? Don't believe in savings or make too much to care?

I'm all of the above. LOL

I have 2GB Nano, just picked up me new 4GB Nano in Lime Green and if Sony's PSP didn't exist I would've picked up the iPod 30GB Movies.

I am planning on picking the 6G iPod/TouchScreen, whatever it's called or going to be. LOL

I currently have a 1gb Ipod Nano that I use mainly while I exercise. It's capacity is more than enough for me because the most I'll listen to it straight is three hours at a time.

I am thinking of getting a second Ipod though, mainly for when I go on trips and because it will be big enough for my entire music collection. It's definitley not something I would use though while exercising because it would be to costly to replace if I broke it some how, where as the Nano could be replaced pretty cheaply.

like many I use the 5G in the car, i think a large capacity HD player is an essential addition to any car, i just couldn't live without it, my iTrip and iPod are literally the most useful gadgets i've ever owned, the countless times a typically boring situation has been livened up with having this combination and having just the right tune at hand at parties etc.. is a real boon, as well as being able to show photos and videos to people. It even became an invaluable item on a recent music video i made where the artist didn't have a copy of his song on cd, and we just had a portable radio at hand, the ipod and itrip meant the producer was able to stand at a distance, and control the song, while keeping the radio close to the our cameras and the artist.

I have a nano as well, which i like to use when i can't be bothered with the bulk of the 60gb, though i know its small already i am one of those people who doesn't like carrying bulky items etc. (thats why my phone is a Samsung X820.. a phone as slim as a nano, pure sexiness). I'll only use the 5G when out and about if i'm wearing a jacket. Otherwise the nano is perfect to just stick in my trouser pockets. Another cool use of having a Nano is i keep it with me as a backup for when my 5G runs out of battery, which can happen when you're out and about etc.. and especially if you want to watch video. A Nano and 5G are the perfect combo for long haul flights and journeys.

Am expecting the new Shuffle literally within the next 2 hrs, i wouldn't have brought the previous shuffle, as there are much better/smaller/cheaper USB flash drive options out there, and the nano is slimmer, holds more songs, has a display, good battery life, and it can of course shuffle, which is something i do all the time. But i just couldn't help myself to the new one, the size, look and price were just too good to miss out on, add to this i'm an apple nut. I don't know how much use it will get, the nano is already space saving enough as it is, but i have a large music collection, and the idea of a new random 1GB sample of it every so often for my walks sounds fun. And it will also provide a further battery backup to my nano and 5G. :)

am tempted to give my nano to my sister and get a new 8GB one, but wont upgrade nano until the sound quality is as good as the large ones, to me the sound quality difference is VERY noticeable and is the only thing stopping the nano being the ultimate MP3 player. Though will definately be upgrading to the 6G.

i know through friends of some people who have like 5 of the same ipod, so they can leave one plugged into their soundeck, keep one in the car, one in their office, one in the bathroom etc.. but being that rich, they apparently are too lazy to update them all, so some of them just have like 10-20 cds on them, in glorious souding 160k iTunes format, which is so ghey.
