???

honestly, if this were any other CEO or the like, I'd just post an RIP in a thread and be on with my life (no disprespect). But for some reason SJ's death has significance to me (a sadness of sort). I'm not sure why at the moment.

(this is probably the wrong subforum, not sure where to post it though)

You just answered your own question.

If you're not sure why, just keep thinking. It'll come to you. But make sure that rock you've been living under isn't pressing too hard against your head.

Steve Jobs was one of the most visible and known CEOs of all time. Most other CEOs aren't as visible. It feels like Steve was more than a regular CEO, the products actually had Steve's touch on them. It's sad to lose an innovator like Steve. We wouldn't have the products we have now without him.

When I think that the device I'm typing this on is built on Steve's visions, it feels sad not to see anymore of these visions and innovations.

Steve Jobs had charisma beyond the average CEO and he had his finger pressed on the fickle pulse of the public's tech lustiness. Because of that I fell into Mac and iDevices and into this forum - where I've been helped, entertained, met and made friends with many interesting and awesome people, including my (now) husband. So indeed, I care because to say Apple and Steve Jobs affected my life is an understatement.

For me - I care that Steve Jobs died because it means he won't be able to present anymore of his revolutionary products.

Like most people I only ever saw and heard Steve speak during his keynote addresses. But he was someone who could really sell the potential of the new devices, especially something like the iPad. Watching that keynote and that first iPad ad, no word of a lie - I very nearly shed a tear, simply because it really seemed like such an amazing device. I'm sure that there would be very few others who could present a new device like that and cause anything near the same reaction. I think sometimes we just need someone like Steve to show us and tell us how great a product is, and what it will mean for everyday life, because there is no other way that people will realise it.

I'm trying not to keep reading all the articles that have been posted, it's almost more depressing thinking about what he would have done it he had lived to 70, 80 years...

He is an inspiration

I sometimes feel like we will see him again walking onto the stage and say "Good Morning!"

He's very charismatic. His cool but simple speaking style, down to earth. His sharp, to the point, without any bs keynote presentations, speeches, interviews were and are always interesting and inspiring. Apple products are awesome! My first personal computer was a mac pro G5 with Jaguar...

A CEO who walks onto stage wearing jeans and a black roll neck top to give a down to earth no bs keynote became iconic.

Simply because I'm interested in his products and they'll probably become crap now.
