Why does a 15in macbook pro 2009 seem to load faster than my 2011?

And so the new mac user learns just how poorly Lion performs.

Lion performs fast and fine for my needs. I bought my Mini and now I'm going to get a Macbook Pro in a few months.

I'm not bitching about how slow Lion is. If I had a bad experience with Lion, then I would never throw down just over £2,100 for a Macbook Pro.

Sorry but that just had to be said. But everyones experiences with Lion are different I guess.

My MP was getting pretty slow to boot, even with 14GB of RAM. It was all the apps and services all trying to startup when I first logged in. My laptop doesn't have as much.

I fixed my desktop by upgrading to a SSD, which eliminated the seek time during login.
