Except Apple very specifically states the exact opposite of what you said, as per the support link posted earlier in this thread. Maybe someone at an Apple Store told you this, but that doesn't mean that Apple itself told you this or maintains it as fact, since they obviously don't.

I'm positive it is a cost-saving measure. Honestly, I'd love to see them switch to 85W and 45W since, at least last I checked, the 85W and 65W adaptors are just about the same size. Size is the big issue here.
