I was able to get them to price match Apple.com at $749 for the 64gb iPhone 6 on Saturday. Sounds like it is solely at the discretion of manager or salesperson.

They could've easily price matched with an online competitor. For example, had a guy come in to my store to get the 6. He was gonna buy it out right. Verizon had the 6 for 649.99 in store AND online. Asked my boss if we could price match the online price and he said it was fine. The dude got his 6 for 649.99. Sounds to me that it was less of "best buy is being evil" and more "the manager that you were dealing was being a bit of dick"

I've been emailing back-and-forth with Best Buy customer service and someone from the Best Buy mobile back office told me in an email that they don't do price match Full retail value of mobile phones with any retailers. And that also they don't price match with AT&T Verizon or T-Mobile or Apple because they are not their competition. They are their partners.

As a person who works in best buy mobile, I can tell that that is 100% false. We price match with AT&T, Verizon, Amazon, Walmart, Target, Sprint, ect. We can also price match full retail with AT&T, Verizon, Amazon, ect. When I log into POS on any register and hit the "price match" option, it actually lists every single store/company that we price match with and AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint are on there. T-Mobile isnt. We don't do T-Mobile contract phones tho. However, a lot of their prepaid phones are on Amazon...which we can price match, as long as it says "sold and shipped from Amazon.com" And I do believe we can price match with Apple as well.

You think thats bad? They have phones like the LG G3 that sells for $569 retail but best buy will sell them for $799 out of contract. They obviously want to force people to contracts. How about phones like the Nexus 5 that sells for $399 for the 16GB model and they sold it for $799 out of contract? $50 isnt that bad of a charge when you consider it, but still crappy that they charge the extra.

Don't know what store you went to but I've never seen a Nexus 5 that sold for 800 bucks. We actually sold that phone in our store and it was no where near 800 bucks, full retail.

I do not shop at Best Buy. The sold me a used digital camera as new and it took arguing with the manager to get my money back. The manager insisted that the phone had never been used even when I showed him a filled out warranty card AND the receipt from the original owner, all left in the box. Best Buy ranks right in there with Radio Shack, to me.

I bought my lg g3 for $580 at att
Went to best buy the next day. It was selling @ $699.00
