Is the girl from iCarly the same girl from Drake and Josh?

She had a Macbook with a flower sticker (or something) covering up the apple.

On another note, Sex and the City prominently featured the upside down Apple logo on Carrie's G3 powerbook.
There was one episode where her PowerBook broke and she had to get it fixed – on this occasion they actually did cover the logo with a sticker, I suppose to avoid any flack from Apple for showing their products in a negative light.

I should add that I only saw it because my girlfriend was watching the episode. Yes, that's right.

In fact, the BBC got a good telling off a few years back for featuring logo covered products too prominently, one of the transgressions centered around the glowing logos on Apple hardware being on clear display in one of its dramas.
Spooks, maybe? They have a bunch of PowerMacs/Mac Pros and ACDs in their office, and Harry has an iMac on his desk.

Yep, I'm sad ;)

But a $5 cup of sugar-injected coffee everyday is a great deal:rolleyes:

you figure people update their computers about once every two years..... for the people that drink a star bucks everyday they could have $3,000+ dollars towards a nice MAC..... imagine the people that drink that and smoke a pack of cigarettes .... they could have the ultimate MacPro every two years... geez

If any of you watched Journeyman after Heroes (which pimps Nissan cars) last night, the phone the main character uses is an iPhone - and he uses it a great deal, showing video, reading newspapers, etc.

There are agencies out there who's sole purpose is to place products within productions. Here is a really good primer for product placement: http://money.howstuffworks.com/product-placement.htm - enjoy

Also, Chandler had a Pismpo G3 for a while on Friends - sans logo

Just because Job's owns a lot of Disney doesn't mean anything. Apple and Disney and completely separate companies. Jobs don't owe Apple, he can't just going around giving stuff away for free by himself.

They work completely separate from each other. Why does Disney cover up the Apple logo? The same reasons why they would cover up a Dell logo.

Well, I guess we all have our own "luxury" products we like to indulge in. I would much rather spend my $1250 (the amount of coffee purchased over a standard 250 day work-year) towards something useful and more permanent...thank god Apple came along!

There are tons of films and shows with Apple products, some of which have the logo covered up (e.g. Scrubs)...that film was "Accepted", with Justin Long of "I'm a Mac" fame :)

That whole film was basically the Apple store.

hmmm, can you really miss the G5 on that silver box in the corner in some shows???
what really gets me is when they've got the iPod connected to the mac but still cover up the logo. hello? if you haven't been living in a cave for the past 6 years, you know it's Apple branded.

oh, and some companies don't want people to know it's their product in certain shows because of the content of the show. they don't want to drive away certain customers because the italian mafia uses a mac

Actually, iCarly is on Nickelodeon, which is owned by Viacom. That's why the apple logo was covered. I normally don't watch Disney movies, but I wouldn't be suprised if they didn't cover the logo for ABC shows and Disney movies. Although, they may still cover them up for the European audience.

On House yesterday there was a scene where they were using iMacs and you could see the logo on the back. I guess fox was paid by apple?

Not necessarily. A lot of people associated with Fox are die-hard Mac fans. This could be a case of simple "let me show the world what I think is superior"-ism on the part of the House producers.

Runaway Jury has loads of Macs. I also think that the monitors used for the CAT scans on House are Macs, but I'm not positive.

3 reasons:

1) all CREATIVES in Hollywood are mostly on Mac, even when running Avid. I imagine it's more of an homage paid to the computer they use to write scripts / edit sound/video / email / work budgets & calendars / etc.

2) Because of this, they're readily available over PC's in the industry of creatives. Plus, if u were writer or propmaster, wouldn't u throw in your mac just to say "yeah, my mac's more famous than me. It was in a movie" :D Maybe get an extra buck on craigslist a couple years later.

3) Apple is a brand that can speak levels and layers about a character. Sex n' City / Legally Blonde = 'here's someone that... wait for it... thinks different' ;)

steve jobs is the biggest share holder of disney. That said, he should have the most command in the company. period.

Doesn't mean he has enough control to demand anything. Granted, there is usually a certain amount of comrodory between CEOs and boardmembers. However, remember that Jobs doesn't have a controlling interest in Disney; he simply happens to be the shareholder with the largest chunk (and there are many others like him who have huge chunks in Disney).

According to Wikipedia, Jobs has 7% of Disney's shares; a lot, but not enough to make unlimited demands.
