Even if Apple is not paying for advertisement, isn't the message more important? I mean, the product is OBVIOUSLY Apple, and some shows even use a 'pear' logo in place of an apple, like on another Disney show they have "Pear" cell phones and computers that are Macs but use the pear logo instead. Anyone that is old enough to use a computer can make that relation with Apple, and the message has already gotten across to consumers that it's a blatant reference to the uniqueness of an Apple product...so what's the point of making an incredibly minute change and almost uselessly wasting effort in replacing the Apple insignia?

they probably just figured that apple gets enough free advertising as it is (what with some 90% of celebrities and sports stars using their iphones in public)

And not to forget that even the most untechy news media has a feature article for every new apple product. You see nothing similar for Samsung.
They get a few minutes free adds on many news channels. They get free articles in the news papers.

Me personally I like to cover it up just because I despise promoting brands of any kind.

Most people will not remember the computer but the logo will be remembered, even if not consciously, thorough repetition. It's the same reason they use fake soda and food items; unless they get paid they aren't doing free advertising which could impact their sold ad space as well.

I just saw an episode of The Office and they show a couple employees on the eBay website but they blur out the Bay logo, but they also call the website eBay several times...what's the point of blurring out the logo when they refer to it as eBay multiple times?
