I just got a new nano texture MBP and there is no issue on that as well as there wasn't any on the M1 MBP that it replaced. Both straight from Apple customized. They come flawless out of the box although I don't use a flashlight to go hunt for problems, either I notice it during regular use or it's not a problem anyways.

My new 14" PB had weird shiny marks close to the rubber gasket on both sides. I was able to remove most of it with a soft cloth. I believe it was some kind of glue. I did a search and found a few people on Reddit with a similar issue. I also noticed a slight gap between the gasket and the metal edge although I am not sure if this is normal.

This is 100% an issue. Im a new M4 Mac user, I'm very clean and meticulous with my devices and they ended up with little pixel sized pock marks or scratches in the screen. You can see them on white. They look like a dead pixel but aren't. The store literally busted out a jewelers glass to prove it wasnt a dead pixel and then said I damaged it. Mind you we have two M4 Macbooks in the house, my wife has one also. The exact same thing happened on hers. She had a 2013 Macbook Pro 13" she just sold that didnt evem have a scratch on the screen. This has to be acknowledged. Crazy

The new screens do seem to be quite delicate unfortunately. And seems more so an issue with M1-M4 Pros and M2–M4 Air. My spouse’s M1 Air with the old wedge design has no sign of this whatsoever. My M3 Pro had a couple of the little marks on it almost immediately and I’m insanely delicate with my device. I don’t think it can be prevented. Luckily I cannot notice them at all even on a white background with the brightness all the way up, so they must be extremely small, or my vision isn’t as good as yours lol.

My vision is starting to get worse (40) lol. However, I can see them once I notice them. If they were just scratches that were not noticeable on white backgrounds, I wouldn't care. However, they end up looking like dead pixels. If this continues, I may consider bringing this concern to someone higher up. File some complaints, write to higher-ups, try to get consumer advocate influencers involved. To me this is wild, I finally drop some cash and swtich over to Mac and this happens. Uggg. Im in IT and a tech enthusist. I have had, and still have, many laptops. From Alienwares to Asus G16, to fairly basic but still maxed out Inspirons. None of my other laptops randomly scratches like this. I even have a older hand-me-down 2016 Macbook Pro 13" with a perfect screen. Something is off here. This should not happen with a $2000-$4000 laptop. Just saying.

Everyone should be sticking flashlights to the screens to fully inspect for damage once they get a new MacBook.
