cause of apples design flaw, apples arrogans and their dishonisty.
the developers of great applications are saving apple from loosing customers atm with their recent screwups.
if any other mobile platform would have had 50% the quality of apps, apple would be screwed by now.

"your computing needs" i'm sure are checking mail, surfing the net, downloading pics, updating facebook...the average stuff. I will go on a limb and say, "my MBP is far superior to your computer(in terms of speed) at all the above." Plus, i don't have to worry about all the windows base viruses and trojens and worms and other malicious ware associated with windows platforms.

It's ignorant annoying mac users like urself that brings on the dislike for apple. Macs use PC hardware. The fastest PC is faster than the fastest mac. PCs have faster hardware and typically multiplatform software runs faster on a PC.

In reality most pc users dont give a crap about macs and mac users, but some of u guys are fanatical about evangelizing apple that it seems like a borderline cult, which gives all of u a bad name. My ex roomie and his pals were like that. planning vacations so they could see sj speak and annoying me with stupid stuff like saying how motorola CPUs were superior to intel, but when apple switched over to intel then all of a sudden somehow the same CPUs in macs were now superior to the ones in PCs

People don't hate Apple. But they do dislike defective products. iPhone 4 - defective. It should have been recalled. Having to purchase "bumpers," or plastic "guards" to use your phone is proof the phone has a design flaw.

Further, anyone who is honest will admit iPhone reception and call quality is marginal at best -- and far, far below best-in-class phones with rock-solid reception and crystal call quality. iPhone 4 takes it to a new low. Yet fanboys will put up stupid posts saying, "wrong," "not my phone," "don't buy it," and other garbage instead of admitting what most people know to be true.

have you personally spoke with "MOST" people? i doubt it.

I think it's Apple's arrogance and the fanatics who preach the gospel of Steve Jobs to everyone. To the people who think it's price that's making the difference doesn't realize that there are many people who are against Apple who can easily afford an Apple product, whether it be a Macbook, iPhone, iPod (any variation), and so forth.

Also... jealousy does NOT equal envy. They're not direct synonyms. It's like how a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle can never be a square.

If there is sooo much hate out there over the ip4, why are people still waiting to buy one? Why are they so hard to purchase?

Many of the haters are just plain stubborn. I have a buddy that gets gooood deals on his PC equipment. He buys 3 computers to my one in a 5 or 6 year period, not because he wants to, but because they break down. Monitor goes out, CPU fails, and all just out of warranty. However, according to him, Apple makes junk.

I used my new ip4 all last weekend in Athens Ohio for Brew Week. Not one problem - calling - picts - emailing - surfing - facetime - excellent. According to him, I got lucky - I got one that works.

Yesterday, from Athens, our DD called from the AT&T store for advice on which ip4 to purchase for her and her son.

To those who understand -- no explanation is necessary--
To those who don't understand -- no explanation is possible

I'm 60. Started out on a IIc. Was a network admin when phone net pre dated ethernet. I can customize, hack, use wire and spit to operate Macs or PC's.

I used to customize my cars. I got over it. I used to customize my Touch (jailbroken) - I got over it. If it did not work the way I wanted it to work, I would not buy it.

I love the iPhone as a user. I think it accomplishes most tasks better than competing devices do.

With that said, there are a couple things about the 'iPhone hype' that I despise.

1) the wrong people getting caught up in it. I sell phones for VZ and have to endure countless conversations with people who can barely find the power key on their basic Samsung flip phone who insist that they don't want to upgrade to a smartphone because they 'don't need all that internet stuff on my phone' but then bring up that they'd get an iPhone if it were on Verizon. Are you serious? Why? 'I don't know, my son has it and says it's good.'

2) the insistence of users that there phone has features already available on every smartphone out there, and boast about said features as if they're Isaac Newton enthusiastically defining gravity. I get that the iPhone makes it easy for users to do things and that it does it incredibly well, but it's old news.

Trust me, I don't believe this applies to real users like the people in this forum, I'm talking everyday Joe Shmoe.

Hate and Love in this forum are in the eye of the beholder.

And the word "hate" and "hater" have all but lost meaning. It is now used to describe anyone that says even one negative thing about Apple. Or that they love their iPhone but have x, y or z issue.

Fighting egocentrism is a hard thing to do. It's especially hard for young people who just see things in either black and white or can't imagine another view besides their own. And yes - many older people too.

Point is - and it's been made before. Just because you say something negative doesn't make you a HATER. And just because you support something or don't take issue with something else doesn't make you a fan boy.

It's all too easy to label someone (name call) It pushes buttons. It riles people up. It almost forces them to further defend themselves and their position.
?
Are there people who are on MR who have nothing nice to say ever? Sure. Are there people who will defend Apple to the death no matter what? Of course.

But MOST people on here are in the middle. And Hater and Fanboy labels are extreme opposite ends of the spectrum. So relegating someone to either/or is not only unfair - it's ignorant. It's condescending. And it's a cheap and easy out instead of taking a moment to actually read and understand someone's viewpoint and whether you agree or not, respond with respect.

My .02 for a Friday Morning. Sorry it's so long.

I have a buddy

Ugh, I hate word of mouth detractors. Save your examples for your own personal experiences.

I have a friend who despises Blackberry. Will down talk it every chance he gets. Why does he hate Blackberry? Because he couldn't get his e-mail set up. Usually that's where people stop listening and take this experience into buying consideration.

Why couldn't he set his email up?

Didn't know his password.

Again, I hate word of mouth.

There's not a large amount of people who "hate" Apple. There's not even a large amount of super-duper fanboys that would give Steve Jobs their first born. It's just that people from both those categories like to talk... a lot... about Apple. Most people either like or don't like Apple products and it's not a personal issue to most.

Eh?

I don't see none of these three things. Care to explain or you just point fingers randomly?

Don't say that developers are saving Apple cause is not the case. Apple have been clever enough to make the AppStore to enrich their platform and gain money.

The "If" case you state is pathetic, you should see the fact that Apple iOS is a good platform, developer uses it because they like it.

"If" you would have been smarter you wouldn't have said this rubbish.

What this guy said.

If a product says it is one thing and it is really not, it's OK to want them to fix it. There's a reason I bought this phone. Thanks for the keen advice but "take it back" has already crossed my mind. I want THIS PHONE. And I want it to work as advertised.

That most assuredly doesn't make me a hater. But thinking so makes you an idiot.

Agree to a point, but for some reason with iPhone 4 things are becoming "personal". IMO, it's more to due with the general decline of society and it's behavioral degradation. Be it the iPhone 4, Extending Unemployment Benefits, buy a Toyota/Honda over a Ford/Chevy. As a nation we are becoming one of those with and those without. Apple is seen as being for those "with". Therefore anger is generated and the iPhone 4 reception saga provides a convenient release of their hostility. It's going to get worse. :apple:

No. The hate comes from the attitude and arrogance of the Apple fanatics always claiming that Apple's stuff is better whether its phones, computers, or mp3 players.

More often than not, these fanatics were joe-blow idiots that had never heard of smart-phones, mp3's, or computer processors before they saw an Apple commercial or ad or something.

This was already true with Macs (even though they had 0% market share), and its especially true with iPhone users. They don't know jack squat about phones one week, then they buy an iPhone and all of a sudden they are seasoned experts explaining why all other phones suck compared to theirs.

I appreciate a good argument about the merits of one platform vs another, but there's no sense in trying to have a discussion with a zealot who only knows what they have read in a press release, and doesn't even understand that.

The people claiming that the iPhone 4 detuning issue is the same as signal attenuation (just because S.Jobs said so) is a prime example. It is absolute proof that Apple can design a fundamentally flawed piece of merchandise and that the zealots will ignore logic & reality to avoid having to admit that they are soft-headed, kool-aid gulping idiots under the complete influence of Apple's advertising agency.

That, in a nutshell, is where the hate comes from.

+1

That's a very patronising attitude though, and is precisely what gets peoples backs up.
