Well, clearly it's Apple's fault that the sun is bright.

LOL :D
Small White Car, your post made my day! Thanks.:D

I know it's OCD, but I just wipe the screen every so often to avoid those upsetting ugly smudges and dust. The thing is made of glass, after all, it's no surprise that when you touch it, it becomes dirty.;)

How come I can see stuff bigger under a microscope?

Obvious Question Is Obvious.

This is because you are magnifying the resolution of what you are examining as light bounces off the object and through the lenses.

The question really is more scientifically involved: why does sunlight reveal scratches or miniscule "particles" (ie, dust) on the surface of the glass or oleophobic coating better than incandescent and fluorescent lighting? You have to understand that the sunlight is an amalgamation of colors (ie, varying wavelengths) being scattered and being scattered even more as these different wavelengths hit/reflect off the surface of such objects as the iPhone.

Omg, I totally agree! It shows all it's flaws. I sure that's not entirely Apple's fault (of course). But the fingerprints obviously come in play. Although, I feel it's an improvement in comparison to the 3G because of the chrome, and the stuff that gets stuck between the chrome and the glass plate!

I dont think the OP was complaining. he made an observation about how the sunlight really shows the imperfections of the phone. I know exactly what he means. if i look at my phone under "normal" lighting conditions it looks great. No dust or anything. If i look at it again in direct sunlight, all these dust particles that do not show up normally are staring you in the face.

OP, I know what you mean. Others, Chill out!!!!!!!!

Haha! Thanks man. And to the rest I'm not complaining! It's just the sun shows the flaws, that's all...it sucks.

Don't want to hijack the thread.. but I was wondering what the mesh-looking lines are when you put the iPhone 4 under the sun? It's like a bunch of little squares as silly as that sounds.

It's obvious it's probably to do with the IPS display, but is there a name for it?

It's the touch grid.
