Why doesn't anyone go head to head with Apple?

Apple makes 5 laptops between the Pro and the Air.

Dell probably makes 30. Why? Because the management at Dell makes 30 not-very-good laptops to try to please everyone. Home users, girls, students, kids, business users... They also try to make them as cheap as possible. That's why they're so bad.

Apple just makes 5 laptops and makes them the best they can be.

In order to do as well as Apple, you have to have as much money as Apple. Apple has sooooo much money to spend trying new things and experiment with new technology. Not 100% of what they spend goes into their computers but it's ok because they they plan for things to not always turn out right. However when you do buy a Mac it's usually built and engineered through state of the art technology and build quality so they are usually ahead of the curve with computers and other devices.

Other companies dont have the massive budget that Apple does so many companies just leech off Apple's work and water them down into cheaper devices.
