Am I missing something? If Coke Zero has 1 calorie and no sugar, why not just drink it all the time?

It tastes nicer than water. But what's the downside?

I'm entirely convinced that this generation is going to see MASSIVE amounts of cancer with the amount of artificial things we consume without looking into the long term effects. I stay away from any "sugar free" and "0 carbs" products as I can, because most of the time whats replacing them can be far worse for you.

Just eat right/better people, don't rely on marketing to make you healthy.

I don't know what those ingedients are! I just know that it has similar fat/sugar/salt/calorie content to water - that's all I really understand.

No. It does not taste better than water.

In my opinion it tastes tonnes better than water.

Carbonated water
Colour (150d) - aka "Sulphite Ammonia Caramel"
Food acid 338 - aka "Phosphoric Acid" (Also used for rust removal!)
Food acid 331 - aka "Sodium Citrates" (Also used in photography and as an anticoagulant of blood stored for transfusion!)
Flavour
Sweetener 951 - aka "Asapartame" (According to the US FDA, "the [National Cancer Institute] currently is studying aspartame and other dietary factors as part of a larger study of adult brain cancer." You might want to wait for the results before you drink it. Also, avoid this one if you're moody!)
Sweetener 950 - aka "Acesulfame Potassium" (Looking for reasons to avoid this sweetener? Look no further...)
Preservative 211 - aka "Sodium Benzoate" (Undiluted this stuff isn't too bad... Just don't let it touch your skin!)
Caffeine

I'm assuming you're from the US.... THIS is what's wrong with this country. There's so much crap in our "food" that people are ignorant about.

I don't know what those ingedients are!

But you're OK with just drinking vast quantities of the stuff?

Think a decade or more down the line when they have to hook you up to a dialisis machine…do you know how much sodium (aka salt) goes through your system when you drink this crap?

Stick to water. Cheaper and better for you.

Good luck.

Actually I'm from England.

Well, I've given up alcohol so I'm looking for something 'interesting' to drink with my dinner. As I can't have wine then I was looking at Coke Zero.

By the way, when I compared it to water, I wasn't suggesting I'm going to drink litres of the stuff everyday...

having one a day or so is probably not that bad for you (I'm still not going to do it). But replacing your whole water intake with this stuff is just asking for trouble.

Why not water (or soda water) with a splash of lemon or lime juice? That'll wake you up every time and offer a bit of tangy flavour that breaks up the monotony of straight water. :)

What could possibly be more interesting than water? Want some interesting facts about water?

1) You can't live without it
2) In its pure form (pure H2O) it is poisonous

That's all I got... :p

In all seriousness, your body will thank you if you just stick to water...

Which is also good for your kidneys...

Does Coke Zero have 1 calorie in England? 'Cuz here in North America it has zero calories, hence the name!

The difference is in how calorie counts are allowed to be rounded up or down — less than 1 in the US is allowed to be called 0.

Say 100 ml = 0.5 calories?

UK = 1 calorie.
USA = 0 calories…
