Apple probably doesn't even know Sony is still losing lots of money trying to sell phones.
I've read that Sony and LG are mostly making phones as demonstrations of tech they have available for sale. Any profit they might make is gravy, but unnecessary.
Yes, but the difference is that you can unlock the phone with your finger while doing something else and not looking at your device.
Probably not easy to do without looking if TouchId was under the screen.
There's no physical button to act as a finger cue. Unless the phone vibrated when your finger was over the right spot or something.
