Why are you buying Ipad Pro?

Bought a Wacom and found it hard to use (not a Cintiq, DOH!). My plan is to use iPad Pro for drawing, but I also need to replace my iPad 2 (runs & hides).

but there hasn't been an iteration of Windows OS that hasn't been riddled with errors, (XP being the least problematic.)
But if Windows is running good for you and anyone else, that's fantastic. I am not trying to, nor will I try to convince you otherwise.

Your not going to convince anyone otherwise because you premise is hysterical. While I am not a fan of windows 8.x--I dont know how you get to "riddled with errors".

Will this really be able to replace the Wacom tablet plus illustrator/photoshop type setup?
If yes, I think there's no question I would get it.

Another question is whether Microsoft one note will work well on this.
I remember having a Windows tablet PC for note taking as a college student and would LOVE to have an iPad do that for all my note taking.

Wait, wait, wait... did you miss this part of my last post: "But if Windows is running good for you and anyone else, that's fantastic. I am not trying to, nor will I try to convince you otherwise?"

I suppose i'll reiterate...
I AM NOT here to convince you or anyone of anything, you don't have to believe my history with Microsoft... I honestly don't care what you do. I shared my experience to give some context to my views on Microsoft, that is all.
If you are a fan of Microsoft, continue to be one, that's great. I'm also glad you found my post hysterical, I wasn't quite aiming to be funny, though I am glad it made someone smile. :)
I didn't realize in order to have an opinion on this forum I had to prove my knowledge of computers or their software. Would you like me to re-word my last post or perhaps go into the past and get a video or photo for you; proving myself somehow? ;) ha ha.

After 15 years of laptops, I went with beefed up Mac mini and iPad 4 so the pro fits in perfect as my iPad 4 is used in my interior design business. So ready for a little bigger screen, pencil and keyboard. This Pro seems to attract the creative arts crowd well.

I'm looking to lighten my load when I travel. my rMBP is amazing, I love it to bits but it is aging, a late 2013 isn't getting any younger and while it still has a year of AppleCare+ I might as well get my moneys worth out of it while I can. I bought it for editing photos and video, but I haven't been continuing that as much since I finally picked a career. In my experience people don't really care if the image is an 50megapixel RAW with a 1.2f ultra sharp lens and edited on a colour corrected screen with the latest and greatest software... A nice shot is often enough when selling unique items, when the image is gallery material after the item sells anyhow.

That stuff aside, I'm liking the idea of having LTE capability as well. When travelling I don't want to be looking for the nearest Wifi spot thats not why I travel. It'll be liberating being able to swap a SIM card out when I need to in another country or something and just take it from there.

The Pencil and keyboard is icing on the cake, particularly the pencil. I've had a stylus for my iPad 4 for years and it was great but the lag is crazy.. and the iPad 4 isn't aging as well as other devices with iOS 9 installed.

your late 2013 is aging, wow! my mid 2012 16gb 512 i7 2.7 is still an amazing box, these things were like 3k, and barely 2 years & its aging, that's a wow! i cannot for the life of me wrap my head around that. guess tomorrow we'll be like my 2016 50 gb DDR4, 50 tb internal ssd, i50 4.0 ghz processor is a dog in 2017. bananas. 75% of the apps now are just getting to the point where they know what to do with 2 processors and take advantage of them, let alone a 4 way proc box with the capability of that processor. being a little facetious n funny

Didn't read anything else I said except what you wanted to argue with..
My Macbook doesn't have an i7 or a 512GB SSD, it's not getting any better but that won't always be the case. I go onto say that I'm not using it to it's full potential and that while this machine is still a very nice laptop today I might as well get my moneys worth out of it before it's not. I might get half the initial cost if I wait a year but I could get 3/4's now and basically 1:1 an iPad Pro LTE 128GB with the pencil and keyboard which will hold value longer that my macbook.
When technology arrives at graphene and teraflops and 50TB of instantaneous storage, arguments like this will likely never happen because it will simply be pointless. Speaking of pointless..

Passing on this one, unless they come out with a model that runs OSX.

Having said that, one seemingly simple feature that would make me jump would be the ability to use it as an external display. If I could run it alongside my MBA while in hotel rooms or on the go, that;d be worth the price of admission. I know that there are some 3rd party solutions out there, but all are clunky or have latency issues.

The ability to use iPads as external displays would be huge, for me!

I've always wanted an iPad (or other tablet) with a screen roughly the size of an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper. Also, I wanted that device to weight roughly the same as a "regular" iPad. This will be great for PDFs, comic books, and magazines. This is why I'm looking forward to the iPad Pro. I just wish they had 64 GB for the price of their 32 GB model.

I plan on buying the 2. gen for uni, my iPad Air seems to do all I need my Mac for when out and about, and I'll retire my 2012 cMBP to desktop use only.

In the case that I should one day find myself needing to use a PC programme while out and about, I plan on using a remote desktop client via VPN to access my Mac at home.

I really like OneNote on my iPad, and being able to draw with the pencil sounds like a dream come true!

I was originally planning on buying a rMB, but honestly I feel like I'd get more use out of an iPad Pro as long as I keep my MBP alive.

The major short fall is the lack of proper stand--but hopefully third parties will fill in

I think the single biggest upgrade to the iPad Pro for me, would be a small kickstand like the Surface Pro has! I don't expect to ever see that make it onto an iPad, but I can dream

There are actually multiple reasons why I want an iPad Pro so I just picked the reason that was more outstanding than the rest. Realistically, I could has chosen "all of the above" had that option been listed ;)

I'm planning to replace my 2012 RmBP with the iPad Pro. I find myself never using the laptop unless I travel, which is really infrequent, and I always take my iPad anyway. My iPad is already the device I use most when I'm not sitting at my desk.

Two words: "apple pencil". Seriously being able to paint on the fly is a dream come true! Screw you Wacom cintiq.

Same for me. Never used a cintiq but I've been waiting for an official "stylus" from Apple since they announced the iPad. The fact they especially made a screen to take advantage of this, shows me how much Apple is committed to this new product line. The iterations of the Pro is going to be amazing.

Can't wait to play with the pro in store but not a need for me

Same here, but folks going from a Macbook to an iPad Pro I just don't get as it is two completely different audiences. And if folks say they will do the same things they did on the Macbook then why did they buy it in the first place, they should have just bought an iPad long ago.

And it is too big for a tablet, all one needs to do is go to Best Buy and try one of those 12.2 Samsung Pro tablets and they will find that out.

Media consumption, pure and simple. Needed something special to drag me away from my android setup and the iPad Pro is just the thing.

Quality Android tablets have sadly become a dying breed and the Pixel C looks awful and is actually smaller than my excellent Tab S 10.5. It came down to Surface Pro 4 or the iPad Pro and even though the Surface Pro 4 would be easier for me to use I opted for the iPad Pro as I already have a windows laptop and want a high performance tablet not a portable laptop with a touch screen.
