I suppose because Apple always wanted to make their products 'simple', in a way you don't really have to bother with technical specs. But I guess it's time for them to do so.
That’s true. It’s meaningless to promote the tech spec in details if tech spec in real life is not equivalent to user experience.
I have seen some android flagships that focused on tremendous tech spec, but failed to provide a smooth user experience. What a joke!

It’s more that the other companies aren’t as smart. Apple understands in marketing, 30% faster leads to more sales than 6gb of RAM.
What about “The all new iPhone has 6GB of RAM making it 30% faster”? May not be the coolest billboard but would it be so bad to say it out loud at the unveiling?

No way. It would mean some Android fan would claim their phone had 8GB and was therefore better. You can't make that comparison with different Operating Systems. Apple wants no part of that comparison.

Apple doesn't sell specs, they sell use cases. Which is a good thing, unless they misuse your trust and oversell an underperforming feature.

Specs are useless, they don't generate any value. A simple thing as a camera sensor has an amount of pixels, the alignment of those, the colour format (4:2:0, ...), the maximum bitrate, the signal to noise ratio, the readout itself (debayering, ...), sensor size, number of focus pixels, rolling shutter, dynamic range, native ISOs, rolloff, a number of specs for axis stabilisation ... I'm sure I forgot quite some more. Every single parameter I just mentioned is critical to the quality of a camera. That's just the sensor, not even talking about the glass and so on. And yet, I bet you didn't hear of most of those ever in your life. Instead, the "specs" get sold as megapixels and f-stops.

That's why specs are worthless, it's comparable results that count. 50% faster than Z, that's a comparable result. If you don't trust a company, check out a good review side. notebookcheck.com is your best friend.

I love the irony here. People here love saying "Steve Jobs blah blah if he was still around" and yet he was the guy that thought the experience of using technology transcends mere specs on paper.

the only thing i'll say about Jobs is *I* believe we wouldn't have the multiple phone sizes nor a phone as big as the Max and Plus series before it.

I admire Apple for the way they talk about experiences rather than specs. As a tech nerd that’s what attracts me to their products because of that technical prowess they have.

I feel sorry for the android oems who tout specs instead of experiences. It’s amazing that to this day no other company has even tried to emulate apples success in this regard.
