All I know is when I asked at my apple store, they didn't even know when they would receive the watches or the bands for sale.

I've been to the mall at Southpoint. This simply isn't true.

I know a guy who works there. They have no watches in stock and they have not had watches in stock.

Just like every other Apple Store on earth except the Online one.

I'm sure he misunderstood the sales rep who was probably telling him that he could go online right then and there and purchase the watch. Either that, or the sales rep is the most uninformed sales rep in the history of the Apple Store. Also, if you're so worried about everyone calling you out on it, all you have to do is call the store and ask them yourself instead of hearing it second hand.
I'm not the friend that is going to call the store and then tell him "YOU ARE A LIAR, I CALLED THE STORE!" Not my style which is why I wanted to ask here. I thought (knowing how much integrity he has) that he was 100% not lying and if there was in fact a small quantities available, then all would be settled. Instead, the masses here think I'm trolling. Unbelievable.

From what I read online there IS stock available at some places as I saw a guy from The Verge bought one at a "reseller".

It doesn't much matter whether your friend is having you on or he misunderstood the sales person as there are no Watches for sale at any Apple Store anywhere on planet earth, period.
Exactly what I thought.

It's not just men who read this forum, fyi.

Seriously, that is what you have issue with? What would you prefer? Ladies and Gents? I used fellas as a casual identifier as in "a group of people"

Nobody is saying you have to call your friend out on it. Just call the store and see how wrong you are/he is for the sake of YOUR integrity. You're the one coming on here spreading absolutely false rumors based on incorrect second hand information.

And yes, they were available at "select retail boutiques", like 5 in the entire world. Those of us who are devout Macrumors article/forum readers, unlike yourself, already knew this.

as I've mentioned, either you are trolling is (which you saying you are not, we believe you) then your friend is trolling you for talking about the damn watch too much.

Why starts an argument about what you "friend" says ?

You simply can't verify it so there is no point of discussing. You have asked, we have answered: no there are no APPLE stores selling the watch at the moment in the world. Period! end of story

There are a few boutiques around the world selling them, but not the actual Apple Stores.

Yep, there was only ONE store in the U.S. that was selling them - in L.A. (and, yes, not an Apple store).

The head of Apple retail said in a memo that it would be June at the soonest that the stores would have stock of watches.

(if they don't get the backorders run down, it'll be further than that).

The only way I could see this happening is if a customer returned a watch new in box. Then, it would become store inventory and would be sellable. But I can't imagine they would offer it to a customer; they would not want to create any word-of-mouth that watches are available in store. Besides, an employee would snatch it up first.

Even customers return the watch, it wouldnt be on sale again very soon, it will be send back to China for new packaging, refurbish first.

In my experience every item returned, whether it's new in box or not, is opened for inspection. As far as I know Apple does not recycle returns to sell as new. I have personally returned new in box items and they have opened it in front of me and inspected it.

Agreed - they'll likely use it for a warranty replacement (provided it checks out ok).

My integrity? Seriously? My integrity is just fine. My skin is thick and can handle all the childish attacks. I came here to ask a serious question and got just the opposite I expected. No, I'm not a devout MacRumors reader so there is no way I would know this. Hence, the reason I asked. Instead, I have been treated like many anonymous internet forum treat the non-regulars. Not to worry, I won't come back again the future to ask such stupid questions that I would have already known the answer to had I spent copious amounts of time here like the rest that have taken great pleasure in being anything other than helpful.

Back to work for me. Not sure how to close the thread as I clearly violated the unwritten protocol of the forum so I'll just unsubscribe and let y'all have at it.

In the future instead of naming your thread:

Why is delivery so far out when stores have stock for sale?

Name it:

Do Apple stores have stock yet?

You phrased it like you had some solid fact that turned out to be very untrue.

Ray, I totally understand what you're talking about. That's why I don't ask anything here anymore becuase people don't know how to act or treat others. Apparently everyone on here is a professional at everything.

I'm sorry you're going through this.

Maybe it's changed. When I worked there, we put new in box returns right back on the shelf.

Apple stores do not have :apple: watches in stock, what's your next question?

If you bought online you have to send it back. Can't be returned in store.

Sounds like Ron Johnson's brother is trolling on his behalf, I'd be pissed too if I were a former J.C. Penny exec.

Your "friend" could have easily sent you a pic of the watches available for sale in the store. Given the prices people are paying on eBay and Craigslist, if this were true, word would have gotten out and they would have all been bought within hours.
