In general, I don't like holding a strong opinion without some practical first-hand experience. That's not always practical, but it's a general principle that I like to stay close to, so I do get what you’re saying. However, how much experience do I have to have had with Android to be able to say I don't like it? Am I allowed to not like Android if I've never owned one, even though I have used several? How long would I have to own one to be allowed a negative opinion?
So it ok to come into a section to post negative things about a platform you have never used?
Is that what you are saying?
Then how would you treat someone in the iPhone section that posts negative things about IOS and iPhones...then you find out they don't have or never have had an iPhone.
What would you think of someone like that? What credibility would they have in your eyes?

You mean like happens every day on this site? Sure it's annoying.

I didn't initially realise this thread was in the Alternatives to iOS section, since I saw it on the ticker on the main page, so I get why you're pissed off, but bashing Apple is pretty much the default across much of this forum. If you say you like something Apple's done it doesn't take long for someone to call you a shill, so yeah.

I like Apple OS, but I guess its a personal preference.
For me the unified look across my devices works.
Is it perfect, no. But I do not have any issues.

I am not an Android user and my last Android handset was a work phone many years ago.
I did not particularly like the UI but I am sure its moved on massively and have not seen the latest so cannot judge.

I use Windows 11 for work, and am not a big fan. I find it a bit more disjointed and do not fine the menus and structure as good.
But again personal preference, I am surfe many Windows uses would say the opposite.

The only thing Apple is missing is a white frosted icon with black silhouette option.

Yeah but the large majority of Apple-bashing that happens on this site is from within the Apple user base.

I promise you this is probably the least hostile corner of the forum until phone season gets here and Apple users start to leak into it.

I got my hands on a budget Samsung tablet and the experience is bad. I’m not talking about the hardware since the tablet is extremely cheap. The software is just ugly. Apple’s design is art compared to Samsungs design. Just look at the icons for example. The settings icon Samsung uses looks like it was drawn by a 12 year old. It looks bad. Don’t get me wrong though, I really want to like Samsung and Android, but they make it so damn hard.
Guess it depends on what one chooses to focus on, to each their own. I just picked up a Samsung Tab 11 plus does what I need it to do for $215. Popped in a spare MicroSD 512GB for Apple Music, AppleTV movies. Great for outdoors in Jeep for onX navigator, camping tablet without worrying about my pretty iPad Pro. IP54 rating, could have spent more and got IP68 same as my 17PM. Icons yeah it's got them...

Ironically, I think the iPhone Fold (Ultra) is going to look ugly unless Apple makes changes to the iOS, whether specifically for the Fold or overall.

For example: Look at these photos of my display widgets on the Fold 8. The right photo represents somewhat how ugly iOS widgets would look on the cover screen, due to a lack of "remove background" and "opacity" settings.
