Not only is the forum negative an more anti-Apple than neutral but even the news publishers on MR front page and constantly sniping and placing stories on a negative light especially when it comes to opinion pieces. Am I the only one who sees this overtly negative trend?

Well, considering the prices of Apple products are you not surprised that Apple product owners want perfection in the expensive products they have bought and when that products exhibits problems, they will vent their anger/frustration on a Apple related forum?

Also, a huge number of Apple product owners and Apple supporters feel Apple is god and can do no wrong and thus others will respond negatively towards them highlighting the many faults of Apple.

I find during this these times it always seems like some people like to tweet others and comes to the Mac Forums to try to get a raise out of people! Now during this there seems to small number of former Mac users sense the M1 era started and seem to LOVE Intel, it starting to look suspect I always say Don't feed the Trolls!

There's loads of praise on this site and also criticism because we love Apples products and want them to improve, pointing out flaws isn't to mock but to question and hopefully someone from Apple takes notice. There have been occasions where executives have said they read the comments on various Apple centric forums and do think about what we say.

If you have a topic 100 pages long talking about how bad it is that a power cord on a monitor isn't removable maybe they take that on board.

Consider an army sergeant. He/She will yell at you, often, and usually in demeaning terms. However, they won't hate you, and will risk their life to save you. They simply want you to be your best, which is often better than you think you can be.

Think of MR as the sergeant and Apple as the soldier.

The site didn't use to be filled with Anti-Apple sentiment. It was with the advent of the iPhone that more new members started to be drawn in, which in turn drew more traffic.

Many of the old time regulars are now gone. Few remain and if they do, post mainly in the private section of the site.

It’s probably because we buy Apple products and know there are plenty of negatives to go with the positives. These products cost a lot of money and when they are not up to standard, we voice our displeasure on the internet. Not everything is fluffy and false.

This is definitely not an anti-Apple site - it's pretty mild compared to the visceral hate many folks have for Apple on other sites I frequent - but there aren't an overwhelming number of fanboys here either. If anything I find it slants pro-Apple, but not obnoxiously so.

The expectations are high on a company-focused website. Look at any car brand website, and you will think that brand is terrible and anyone that buys one is stupid, and/or suicidal.

This isn’t an Apple fan boy site, some may want it to be.
Some here may want it to be.

It was particularly bad during the iPhone 4s through iPhone 6 era. A lot of users were obsessed with the iPhone as a status symbol (rather than a tool) and looked down on others who had earlier versions of the iPhone.

That same attitude still survives to some degree in the Mac forums where sometimes the general response to a user's problem is "Get a new Mac!"

One of the reasons there is an Early Intel Mac subforum and that the PowerPC subforum still continues.

As an Apple stock holder in my IRA, I have a vested interest in Apples success. I was a PC reseller and network installer in a rural upstate NY town for 20 years, I sold thousand of PC's which I setup and installed. I respected Macs for their desktop publishing and graphic capabilities, but they didn't fit in the small business networking environment I supported. When I retired and moved to CA, I decided to buy a used iMac to learn the operating system. I had every type of cell phone over the years and when my brother showed me his iPhone 3, I immediately switched over.
I use the new iMac 24", iPhone 12Pro, AW Gold Stainless Steel, and ATV 4K. I really like the ecosystem and the way they all interconnect. I look to MacRumors for the technical information and participating in the Digital Photography forums. With the extremely large membership of MacRumors, there is a wide spectrum of opinions both pros and cons. I have noticed that every new product or update gets it's share of dissenters. I would guess that most do not own or use Apple products. Trolls love to bash success, and Apple has proven to be highly successful. Are they perfect, no. I enjoy using their products, and the financial rewards of own their stock.

I'm just here to try and help solve problems if I have any clue about a potential solution.

I own and use many Macs, the youngest being a 2009 MacPro running Mojave. I own a Thinkpad running Windows 7 and my phones are a mix of iPhone, Android and Windows Mobile.

Apple is great and I do use their services. It works well, but I am not tied down by it because there are other solutions and services out there that work better for me. I don't like being 'trapped' as it were, so not all of my eggs are in the same basket.

My preference is Apple, but because I own devices from Apple's competitors for certain reasons, being a fanboy would be hypocritical of me. Apple is great, but they aren't the only thing out there.

Note, this isn't directed at you or your statements, just my viewpoint that I believe aligns with yours.

Either you buy a type or brand of computer as a tool to do the work required or buy a brand or type that suits your interests and hobbies. Brand loyalty applies to many of our possessions whether it be cars, motorcycles, cameras, computers, cell phones, etc. People can get very defensive about their choices and very critical of others. I like the Apple ecosystem and the products I own. I think the Apple mouse and TV remote suck, so I use something else. I don’t make a big deal of it.

Then there is my wife who has a MacBook Air and a Thinkpad, an Android and an iPhone.

Apparently she can't tell the difference between OS and platform, and has never even bothered to try and pay attention to it. She just uses things.

A lot of us love Apple's stuff. But we aren't going to kiss their butts if they do sometihng dumb.

Home team fans are usually the ones most critical of their favorite team.
