This isn't something that really had to change because you could always use the desktop iTunes to browse and get your apps. Once IOS5 is released and there is no demand to sync with a desktop iTunes client, I would hope we will start to see improvements on the mobile iTunes & App Store clients.

the funny thing is i think browsing on the iphone is much better than the ipad but i still do most of my browsing on itunes.

It does suck. Quite a bit. There is no way to find apps unless they are in the most popular category, which is unfortunate. The genius feature for apps is useless in all honesty. And finally, my number one gripe is that once you buy an app, you're stuck with it regardless of if you determine you dislike what you paid for within 10 seconds of using the app. There's no return policy. I know that this would be hard on developers, but something needs to improve. That or mandate trial version of all paid apps. Maybe have the trial apps expire after X amount of hours or something.

I've always wanted that too! I've bought a few disappointing apps I wish I could return. Trial versions would be wonderful.

The AppStore has a lot to learn from the iTunes music store. I mean, after all, if it functioned in a more efficient manner I would probably spend a lot more money. As it is, I get bored of crAPPS and go do something else. But there could have been a killer app I missed. I get lost in the music store in a fun way. I get lost in the app store in a bad way.

The iPad app store is a masterpiece in my eyes. I'm used to the Android Market which is lacking to say the least. Finding tablet apps in the Android Market is ludicrously difficult. At least in the iPad app store you can easily find them. Doesn't the iPad app store launch and display only iPad apps by default? The Android Market launches and shows all Android apps, tablet or not. That's a major flaw in Honeycomb, being a tablet OS it's market should be aware of that.

Just like all the note-taking apps I bought... they are just...crap comparing to the newly released Wacom Bamboo Paper app.. which is free within June...:(

We are talking about iPad and its App Store app in this topic... I think you should stay within the context :p

Of course it's difficult to find if there are less than or around 100 tablet apps on Android.

I am talking about the iPad app store. The thread was about it being awful, I'm presenting the opposite opinion. Further you continued to comment on the Android Market immediately after chiding me for doing so.

The UK store has been terrible for two days now.

What do I mean terrible?

There is a TV app at the top of both the paid and free charts.
Both Paid and free versions have literally hundreds and hundreds of 1 star feedback marks and very negative reviews about the apps not even loading, but crashing instantly

The developer web sites when tapped on leads to a phishing warning web page.

And yet they are still top of the charts.
Amazing. I can only imagine people are buying it to see if it works on their iPads.

Almost at the point Apple should step in and sort it out I think.

The App Store always forgets where I was when I download an app! It kicks me out of the store to show me, as if I didn't know, where the app goes and I have to re-open the app store to download another app. If I am deep in browsing in the app store I am forced to re-click through everything to hopefully get back to where I was. Why can't the store remember my place? Sometimes I just default to browsing the store on my Mac because it does not have this issue. I have an iPad 1 if that makes any difference.

When you click on an app to browse it, click on the description of the app instead of clicking on the picture of the app. I dont know why, but if you click on the picture after browsing, it makes you start at the beginning of the app store; if you click the description to browse an app, you can return to the spot you left off when you're done. Weird...
