Raw option? Did not know that. That is important for me. Thanks. :)

The Raw option is pretty cool - I don't know how it will work on the 7/7+, but it's available in Lightroom on my SE (i.e. I can now take raw photos using the camera in Lightroom on my SE) and the raw photos sync back to Lightroom on my Mac. They don't get added to the iCloud photo library though

Thank you for the good news. I am a amateur photographer. It nice to have a "small version" of a DSLR in your pocket for every day use. Of course, this will not substitute our DSLR camera, but it will fit in my pocket for those unexpected moment that you want to shoot something right away.

I haven't seen any overexposed pics yet from the 7/7+ but if there were, it's probably a creative choice. You can raise/lower exposure by dragging your finger up and down the screen.

I'm still thinking it's a software issue in image processing and I think it can be fixed in future iOS releases.

Or there is no issue and it's simpy a matter of taste which color setting you prefer.

That Samsung grass looks over saturated. The iPhone pic looks better except for the purple fringing which is awful.

The second pic is interesting. The Samsung wiped away so much detail it looks like the guy shaved in between shots. Look at his chest and facial hair.

Look at the Note 7 pictures. Gorgeous beatiful green gras. It seems iPhone 7 cannot produce green color.

There must be an explanation why the colors in the iPhone 7 are so bad.

Could be the algorithm that makes the gamut higher on a iMac or iPad Pro 9.7 screen is effecting how it looks on screens that don't have that high gamut ability. Like it's under compensating for normal screens but will look great on the iPhone 7, 5k iMac and iPad Proo 9.7.

Just a guess.

yeah, and before I even knew how Apple would be using their dual-lens system (either one for B&W and one for color or stereoscopic, etc.), I already told my self I'd be getting it if they did two focal lengths. and the fact that they went with a 28mm (my fave field of view) and a 56mm, that's just more of a reason to want to get it. those are the two field of views I carry with me (at minimum) with my mirrorless camera system. of course it won't replace it, but for those at one instant moments, you know...

As a professional photographer I can tell you one thing that would probably help you with your complaint. The galaxy note 7 shows the green grass a little bit more vibrant probably because it is in a mode similar to landscape mode (like on my digital camera) and the iPhone is more of a neutral mode. In order to get the iPhone to match the Samsung you just have to increase the saturation and contrast. Personally I like the neutral mode because I can adjust it how I want. On the note 7 you're pretty much stuck with what you have. Think of each iPhone photo as a raw photo. There isn't any professional camera out there that takes a perfect photo every time. You have to process it and increase or decrease contrast, increase or decrease saturation and shadows etc.

That may take a little bit of extra work, but if you want your photographs to look great, that's what you do. Unless you're just one of those people that just takes snapshots and happy with what they get and do not work on their photo any further.

If you consider that a reason, then yes, every single person who isn't using an iPhone for experimental purposes buys iPhone because they appreciate its capabilities.
Sorry, I fail to see the logic in your statement. If anything, you sound like a fanboy.

There are MANY reasons why people buy something, especially a smartphone. The device's features or "capabilities" as you call it are usually taken with a grain of salt and often not even considered. The posters in forums do not represent [most] of the entire market share of smartphone users especially Apple. If you can't see that, that's something you will have to sort out on your own.

Why are you being so dense?

This is a simple concept: capabilities = features.

If a product's features/capabilities aren't what people buy them for, in your mind, then what are the reasons?

This should be good.

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have wider color gamut than iPhone 6s and earlier. In fact, they have a wider color gamut than your computer probably has, so there is no way to appreciate the expanded color quality in online reviews without reading them on an iPhone 7. This was also a problem during the announcement, as the projector they were using could not reproduce the same color gamut as the iPhone 7.

tl;dr: iPhone 7 takes better pictures, you just can't see it yet.

I wish I had not canceled my iPhone 7 Plus order. :(

My issue with the camera on my 7 plus is when I take a photo of someone out doors, the camera adjusts for the skin tone and as a result, sometimes the sky in the background is blown out, total white. As you can see, the blue sky is now washed out and white.
