WOW i can't believe how many folks are coming out of the wood work to defend the worst telecomm company ever ATT. ATT is known over promising ,under delivering and bending you over in the process..................

ATT can at times be Faster, but put a asterisk next to faster because you will not always get that with att.
ATT has lots of holes and dead zones and misc throttling BS and billing BS

VZW has a Better More consistent 3G network, no holes, no dropped calls, no dead zones , althought the max speed of the network is around 3.1/3.2 Mbps.
VZW has a better throttling policy for unlimited data users as they only throttle folks connected to a congested cell tower, once the congestion stops, the throttle stops! While att throttles you for a entire bill cycle or more.............

Why do you care so much if others are happy with AT&T?
Move on and be happy with your carrier.
How old are you 12?

So much misinformation!

All iPhone 4S models (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint) are IDENTICAL. Look at your Verizon/Sprint phone... it's got a SIM slot! They all have both a CDMA and GSM transmitter in them regardless of carrier. Thus the only difference between them all is the carrier they're locked to, which can be broken via jailbreak if wanted. So you're not buying a GSM or CDMA phone depending on what carrier you buy.

This means ALL iPhone 4Ss will work overseas, you just have to use your carrier's international plan to do it (which is usually a bit more expensive than going local). So that's just not a factor.

Used Verizon iPhones are probably more expensive because more people want them. Simple supply and demand, nothing more.

Err... it's an inherent limitation of the CDMA standard, not the network. Sprint has this issue as well, and so do all other CDMA networks. Verizon's network is capable of it if the CDMA chips were.

Whatever the reason, chips or network, I for one would not accept not being able to use data and voice at the same time. It's not just the ability to browse the web, but use any apps that are "connected" becomes an issue. I know it's difficult for those using Verizon or any other CDMA networks to understand just how much you would use something - because you've never been able to do it, but it has become an expectation for me to be able to use both at the same time.

For me, it's a physical limitation. I have a hearing loss, and while my hearing aids work pretty well with my phone, I can't hear it unless I have my phone up to my ear (unless it's very quiet... in which case I'm probably at home so I can just use my computer anyway). I don't really like BT headsets because it's a pain to take the hearing aid out, put on the BT headset, have the conversation, take off the BT, put on the HA, rinse and repeat.

I can see how using data and voice at the same time can be handy, but most of the time I'm making calls it's not a good time to be using data as well in addition to my hearing loss.

That's a bummer - I have a slight loss in my left ear (all those concerts as I kid have caught up to me), and I don't yet have a hearing aid. I do in fact use a bt headset in my left ear, which is handy as it helps me hear better and allows for the use of the phone to do other things. I'm surprised that there isn't a better solution for not-in-ear bt headsets - as that could be a good solution for circumstances like this.

GSM is faster than CDMA period. (not saying verizon isnt faster than ATTs 3g in certain areas)

anyone who argues otherwise doesnt know how the tech works..

thats why att can legally say they have the fastest 3g network, while verizon has the largest 3g network..

The inability to talk+surf is why I would never go to Verizon or Sprint.

And yes the AT&T iPhone's always are more desirable/expensive than CDMA carriers.

Uh, no! Every iPhone has both antennas.

World phone
UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz);
GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz)4
802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi (802.11n 2.4GHz only)
Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology

Not debating the facts, but can you tell me why I can't use my VZ Iphone 4s on StraightTalk? Even if it's unlocked.

That's nice that you are happy with Verizon. For me At&t works really well for me and my speeds are fast and I don't drop calls.
