Because it will probably be a M3 chip exclusive in the future. Apple cares about customer experience and would not want the animations to stutter or the shadows and other effects that are unrelated and unnecessary to the calculator in the first place to slow down the device. So they'd rather you don't have the feature you wanted at all.

There are plenty of good calculator apps for the iPad. Which one to choose depends upon your needs. I use PCalc; it's very good. For graphing, I use desmos.

Because iPad apps must utilize the full screen, since iPad apps are designed as full screen windows. Apps don’t have their own unique sizes.

Calculator would look ridiculous as an iPad app, like a 12.9”, since it would have to at least work as a full screen.

This is why apps should have a windowed mode by default.

I’m talking about iPad apps, not widgets, not Control Center widgets, not designing specific features for iPadOS. Just apps.

iPhone doesn’t even need a Calculator app either, neither Mac, since Spotlight Search exist, right guys

That will be an exciting new feature that will change everything in the tablet world. I am sure they don't have one because they do not want to steal sales from the iPhones or laptops. Don't worry, Apple knows what is best for you.

It needs an M3 silicon to be able the calculations on the iPad. Same like Stage Manager needs an M1.
