Sometimes this site baffles me. I'll go to Google News and it'll have a link to a MacRumors article like this one:

M2 'Extreme' Chip Headed to New Mac Pro for Blazing Fast Performance

I'll go to the article and read it, but then I notice there is no discussion shown - and when I check the MacRumors.com News Discussion sub-forum, sure enough there is no post about it in there and no discussion.

I've seen this happen several times in the past. Why is that?
 
We sometimes pull out specific aspects or angles on older stories for social media purposes.

We don’t trigger new discussion threads for these stories and they don’t appear on the main news feed bc they are repeats.

It’s a compromise that we’ve come to to increase our reach but not annoy our regular visitors.

@arn - I think this is a good idea.

It would eliminate the "I haz a confused" ? over my head when I see these posts in the "For You" section of Google News, then I come here and read it and there's no (apparent) discussion ... my 2¢ (US), anyway.
