Any idea why Apple chose to get rid of Time Travel for Watch OS 5 and are there plans to bring it back in later betas? I used this all the time to see upcoming meetings.

Is this for certain? I'm using it right now for meetings and to see if it's going to rain on my commute home!

same, I cannot find the setting for it any more and it is not working.

If gone, thats a shame.

I thought I read something a while back that they were removing this feature but I'm not sure why unless it was causing a lot of confusion by people accidentally activating it.

I suggest trying the Siri watch face as it gives pretty good insight into upcoming events.

Yeah I'm pretty disappointed they chose to remove this. Used it all the time to see which room my next lecture was scheduled it, and to see the weather for the day.

Even if people were accidentally activating it, it's been off by default for a while now so I doubt that was a massive issue.

A shame.

Always a chance it’ll show up in later betas, but it’s very possible that apple either just doesn’t like it anymore, or has some future plans that could replace the functionality or utilize the crown scroll for other features. Also possible that they realized it was just used by very few people.

and it's gone.

Still there. Just turned off after update.

Apple Watch App -> Notifications-> Clock -> Time Travel

Correction:
I still have the series 0 and it got me there (still on WatchOS 4). Not on the series 3.

Still in the search, but then it comes up empty. Sorry for the confusion.

I am missing it too ...

To keep the battery life they had to remove it as it just used too much power to get to 1.21 giga watts

It still shows up when you use the search function, but then it just brings you to the menu where it no longer is...

Oh man this is awkward, I didn’t want you to find out this way. This is the thing bbates123 at MacRumors was the only one using it, they hoped you wouldn’t notice. See Tim I told you.

Losing this feature will make me change the way I interact with the watch, which will be completely worse. I thought it was one of the best features when used with the modular face.

Really bummed that Time Travel was removed. It was a great feature and my fingers are crossed that Apple will bring it back soon.

This reminds me of when Apple removed the ability to control the music on your iPhone from the watch on watchOS 4. Lots of users complained and they eventually brought it back with wOS 4.3.

I’m hoping they bring it back, it was a damn nice feature I used almost every day. But if it was slowing down the performance in wOS 5, then it’s likely gone for good.

I really hope they bring it back too. Love my new Apple Watch Series 4 but already keep getting frustrated by lack of time travel. It was always handy for getting the clock hands out of the way of a complication as well as checking upcoming calendar items, weather, etc. Can’t understand why they removed it.

This is infuriating. I used Time Travel every day. Multiple times a day. I am regularly on calls with people in different times zones. Was so convenient to quickly figure out what time it would be in London and NY at a given time in Sydney.

I guess not many people used it but why take away the option!!??
